Continuing onwards with my weird retro Bills interest that I cannot explain, I’m now watching a playoffs divisional match from 1981 of Bills vs. Bengals. It’s really odd for me to see an iteration of the Bengals that was so good. I can see the wheels are turning in the modern day Bengals team as well, but back in 1981 they had the #1 quarterback in the league, and won a lot of games. Crazy stuff.

Bad teams usually aren't bad forever. The saints and pats were two of the worst franchises in the NFL for years until Brady and Brees, and the bengals were actually pretty good not that long ago too with Dalton! Only reason the browns and texans sucked as long as they have besides mismanagement were the expansion rule changes after the panthers and jaguars came out the gate really good. Same thing the NHL did with the new rules, but in reverse. They completely fucked the preds when they came into the league, and then handed Vegas and now Seattle contender worthy teams year one.

I expect every team has their good years, given the exchange of players and the flushing of new an old players as time goes. Although I haven't finished watching that game as I tend to watch 5 or 10 minutes here and there and inch through whole games over several days, they are slaughtering the Bills, and the Bills sucked back then! Wow. hahaha I somehow get this feeling you'd be really good commentating on football games.

NIL deals for college athletes, Alabama QB making almost a million before playing a snap, OU & UT to the SEC... my head is spinning

It may have only been a pre season game, but watching Bills vs. Bears was nuts. I expected my Bills to win, but I didn’t expect them to slaughter the Bears so much. It was interesting to see ex-Bears QB Trubisky playing for the Bills against his ex team and looking like a starter QB. He was making tons of completions and great plays all around. Maybe Trubisky wasn’t so lousy afterall, and it’s the coaching staff’s fault on the Bears.
What a match. I hope Bills kill it like that all season. I think they’re reaching their peak at this point based on previous seasons.

Justin Tucker just kicked an NFL record 66 yard field goal to beat the Lions. His previous best was 61 yards to win a game at the last moment... against the Lions.

The Lions have made history again. They are the first team to lose two games in a season via game-winning field goal of 50+ yards. And we're only five games in, so who knows what the future holds?

Apparently the Raiders are getting rid of Jon Gruden for being a misogynistic homophobe or something.

Falcons aren't so hot these days, but UGA is tearing it up in CFB. Just secured their path to Atlanta in the SECCG by thumping Florida. Only team with much of a pulse left on the schedule feels like Tennessee - still, as a fan of Georgia sports I've learned not to get my hopes up...

Apparently the Raiders are getting rid of Jon Gruden for being a misogynistic homophobe or something. I was watching a recording of a game that was interrupted for that news. I like how the commentators started filling the dead space with "This is just unfortunate news..." and "These are such hard times for the Raiders camp" comments, acting like the Raiders are suddenly basically out of a chance to succeed in the season or something...and then they are doing quite well actually. Haha It is too bad, but the team is still looking alright, it seems.

Yeah man, that was a crazy story! I saw that in my morning Yahoo news email. Ruggs was performing very, very well for a while there, too. That's awful.
