I guess they are desperate to finally make a profit.

Sad attempt to re-invent the wheel. How is this going to be better than current phones/devices?

I've never understood the Spotify hype. I gave it a try and just don't get it. Maybe I'm still clinging onto "owning" my music library or something. Like other than streaming playlists like Pandora, how would I convert to Spotify as my full time music source and abandon my iTunes library? I really don't feel like searching for and saving all the music I already have or would want. I use to have a shit ton of music on iTunes, but I found myself not listening to most of it. Maybe just a few songs of an album but never the whole thing. With Spotify, it is more accessible to be able to search and listen to new music without having to download or uploading. Also, the discovery feature has been pretty impressive. I use the Spotify app on my phone a lot, again without having to constantly upload music on to it. I still have iTunes for some music that is not available on Spotify though.

I could never honestly give up my digital library, I have close to 300,000 songs on my computer that I have accumulated over the years. Spotify is a cool concept, but the algorithim for the discovery feature kind of sucks and the similar artists when looking at a particulat artists, tends to show the same ones over and over again. Plus even with the extreme quality setting enabled, the streams are way too quiet. I feel like making their own hardware is a pathetic attempt to revamp their business model, when the app/site itself needs a huge overhaul. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have 9k songs on my comp/itunes. Don't use spotify but like the service (my wife uses it). I just like having my library in actual files. And I still use a classic ipod for almost everything. I hate using my phone for music.

I wish my iPod classic was still working, the hard drive went bad in it .

Bad battery but I only use it hooked up in my car or for working out which doesn't kill it.
