This was a strange but very compelling film about the Norwegian black metal scene just before the beginning of the 21st Century and its alleged contribution to a series of church burnings across the country. Again, a style of music i don't listen to at all, but i couldn't help but be really fascinated by the subject. I LOVED this one. I'm a huge black metal fan so I cant get enough of this shit. I really wish it went deeper into Varg Vikerness as a person now. He's completely gone off the deepend and makes borderline white supremacy videos online. And I'm pretty sure he's out for the guys from Deafheaven's blood

Good series on the overall rise of metal music and a look at some sub-genres. Sam also has a broadcast channel called: BangerTV www.youtube.com/user/BangerFilmsIncHe is constantly posting reviews and other bits and pieces.

Call me crazy, but I actually really enjoyed the documentary Parkway Drive made about their Deep Blue world tour. Really fucking cool to see how hyped the small minority of fans in borderline 3rd world countries got at their shows. The families selling counterfeit Parkway merch in Mexico, the insane level of passion of the Indian show promoters, the Football/Soccer chants of their riffs in South America, and of course the guy in China who tried his hardest to say "hardcore lives" in English. Very inspirational actually and really helped renew my sense of pride in being a hardcore kid.

Is this the same one with the shows in India or is that a documentary before the Deep Blue one?

They haven't let their popularity go to their heads unlike other bands and people who have success.
They have a couple of docos and are definitely worth watching.

One of my favorite band docs was "Ladies and Gentlemen... the Chariot". The Chariot did this doc with their first album and has some really great show footage as well as funny band antics.
Also, one of the funniest docs I've seen is Majesty by The Black Dahlia Murder. Highly recommend both if you are into either band!
