To anyone who has read the book:
Is it worth the read, in your opinion? I've seen it has a lot of great reviews but I've mostly heard mixed things about it. I'm the kind of person who likes to read the book prior to seeing its cinematic adaptation but I want to know if it's even worth it in this case as my backlog of books is huge.

This show is so cray cray! I've never read the book or heard of it until I heard/watched this show. I've read that they don't follow along the book at all and thats a good thing..? I really want to read the book now just to see the difference of the two now.

I'm guessing this isn't safe to watch at work? Nah it isn't. There isn't much but I think the nudity parts might get ya in trouble. I just watched all 5 episodes and I'm liking it. It's a slow show that's probably going to build up nicely over time. |

There isn't much action going on right now, but the show is interesting and you can tell it'll only get better from here. I'm loving all the characters/actors and the dialogue. Looking forward to future episodes. |

Very interested in seeing how this show goes, but fuck its strange. I know Hannibal had some really strange beautiful shots, but most of them made sense. Alot of this is just cutting back and forth between the strangest shit. Like is anything going to come out of that ship burning scene? I think the point of the ship burning scene was just to introduce you to another god, that spider dude. I've only seen 3 eps so far but I'm guessing the basis of this series is for McShane to round up the Old Gods to take on the New Gods? The show is stupidly weird and stylish but it's keeping me engaged for an hour at a time which is an achievement in itself. It's also really funny in places which I appreciate. Hearing McShane saying "Hot cocoa" made me laugh. |

The last episode kind of slowed down the interest for me. Hopefully this episode picks it back up for me again...The fact that I was fighting sleep doesn't help either lmfao.

I was 2/3's through reading the book when I found out the TV show was on the way. I am thoroughly enjoying the TV show, especially how they fill in the background with certain characters, which is not covered by the books, which focus on Shadow.
@alext, its realllly weird and I think unique. I'd recommend checking out an ep or two and then deciding for yourself. If you wait a couple weeks I think all 8 eps (which is all of season 1) will be out so you can binge watch it.
