Personally, I didn't mind the 2 QBs, because if one QB did literally shit the bed points wise that week, the other could typically pick up slack. If we don't have 2 QBs then I want an extra flex spot back if possible to help offset this. With regards to a draft time, Friday August 30th is definitely a no-go for me as I will be out of town camping. Any of the other nights should work as my schedule stand currently. Can you do the night before, Thursday the 29th? Thursday the 29th should work for me.

Sounds good, is there any new rule changes to scoring or anything are we just standard? Mostly the same as last year, just a couple tweaks to roster size/position to accommodate to two more teams playing. Glad to have you aboard again!

You may have a good point. With 8 teams, it was likely you were going to find at least 16 great/good/serviceable quarterbacks. I think just inching that upwards to 20 (plus everyone claiming a backup and making the bye weeks hell) is probably close to impossible. I hadn't really considered it now. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll almost certainly change it. Would you like to shrink the roster by 1 in total, or shift that slot to something else? Personally, I didn't mind the 2 QBs, because if one QB did literally shit the bed points wise that week, the other could typically pick up slack. IMO if your one QB shits the bed it’s just something you gotta deal with. Makes picking your QB that much more important. Also the last few days of August are gonna be super tough for me to draft cause i’m moving to another state around that time. I will be available all of the first week of September.

Don’t forget you can set up a pre-draft listing of players and on draft day the computer will automatically draft for you, according to importance (higher on your list, higher your draft importance) and availability.

Yeah i’ve done that before but it’s never as good as being able to do it yourself. I’ll know closer to time what my move out day is.

Hey guys, I've never done Fantasy Football before, Is it difficult to learn on the fly? I'm a huge Eagles fan and watch a ton of NFL during the season. I have DAZN and cable so i rarely miss a game. What's necessary to learn to be able to be successful as a manager on a fantasy team?

What's necessary to learn to be able to be successful as a manager on a fantasy team? Its so easy to learn, and it doesnt take much time other than the actual draft. Google is your friend at this. There are a million different Fantasy Football bloggers/websites out there to guide you through it. Itll take a whole season to get the hang of it, but its honestly pretty easy if you at least take 10-20 minutes a week to set your line up, add/drop players, etc.

I know there are different kinds of fantasy structures though right? Like heads up and versus leagues, or just ranked play?

I know there are different kinds of fantasy structures though right? Like heads up and versus leagues, or just ranked play? Yes and yes. We play head to head, but there are "rotisserie" leagues that play cumulative stats all year. Those can be interesting as it involves very different dynamics, but can make for an anti-climatic way to end the season if the places are set and unlikely to change (like baseball used to do with their pennants many many decades ago). As the NFL is very regimented week to week, you just have to do a lot of preparation between Tuesday and Thursday to set your lineups. They don't necessarily freeze come Thursday night, but you're liable to make a mistake if you're not checking often to make sure there isn't an injury, etc. Of course, bye weeks make the season really fun by October, and can prove extremely hard to manage. I've been playing fantasy football since 2001. It's a blast. Gives you rooting interest in lots of games and makes you care about teams you would never watch.

I still need to get in there and do my pre-draft setup since I’m not free during draft day. I really don’t know much, and I’m a bit busy to do too much reading, so I’m mostly going to stick with names I know and fill up the rest randomly, assuming that’s how it works. Hahaha

Give me a week to see if I can get a handle on it. I’ve been reading a lot of stuff lately on how to draft.

It goes so fast that, really, you're gonna make mistakes drafting and/or miss out on players that someone else took. It's just the way it goes. Drafts are extremely unpredictable.
In my opinion, paying attention after weeks 3 and 4 is really where you make or break your season. Sure, you've already played a few matches, but this is where you separate yourself from others who already start to put in less work. That's where i often make myself a free agent guru, and run stats every week to see the trends.
Also, i finished in last, so don't listen to anything i said.
