He means the real rosters of teams are down to 53 today, and inevitably that means every year some really surprising (or not so, if you're paying attention) veteran is dropped off an NFL team. Obviously, if you had that player, that would be bad! For example, well, we have the biggest cut of the day perhaps in LaSean McCoy. Admittedly last year he was brutal, but he's had a hell of a career so he gets drafted on name recognition. And Team Pritchett was that team this year, but Shady just got released by the Bills so... well, you know.

I am starting to see and understand some of the strategy and depth to this, even before your reply. Although I’m looking at my lineup and not feeling it’s a great team, I’m getting pretty excited.

So much changes over the course of the year. Sure, drafting is a big deal, and you don't want to pick overhyped players. At the same time, watching week to week who does well as a free agent -- someone no other team has picked up yet -- is instrumental in acquiring players who slipped under the radar during the draft.
And when we get to Weeks 5 and 6, when the byes start to heat up and you have no choice but to figure out how to play a full lineup when multiple players are on a bye week, to me that's when the season really gets going.
Again, i say all this as the guy who got last place last year.

Double post, but for good reason. stringypoo, you're going to want to keep an eye on one of your players, Melvin Gordon, as reports seem to indicate that he won't be playing for the Chargers amidst a holdout. Not official, but very likely. You might be out of luck with him...

Don’t remember if I already switched him out or not. I’ll check on that soon.

It's Monday night everybody, mere THREE DAYS before the season starts!
Please make sure to set your lineups by that Thursday night, as it's the Packers and Bears playing so there's a good chance you may have a player from those teams. Remember, if you either don't bother to or just forget, you can change your lineup until 5 minutes before each game begins. So if you wake up at fuckin 12:30pm on Sunday afternoon... you've still got time to set your players!

Breaking into the beer at 1:15 is normal and healthy and just due to my love of sports... right? And that's only 9:30 for our west coast participants

Good Zeke signed, now I don't have to worry about a freaking holdout on his end.
Side note: how the hell did I miss the draft time this year? Still I'm not gonna complain about my team except for my *cough* *cough* Dallas players

This could bite me in the butt by Sunday. I got Steelers D starting, with a projected points of 8. Green Bay's D is riding my bench, and they could've given me 19.5. Dammit.

Trey Burton gave me a big 0. I saw that one coming. He was a recommended switch out, but I didn't have anyone else who could fit that role apparently. I guess my team already blows. hahaha
