Due to popular demand (actually it was like one guy, but whatever) i'm going to start posting a series of Top Tens pretty soon. The first will simply be "The Classics." Hope to finish writing it up in the next day or so. Complete with clips and/or trailers! Stay tuned, film buffs. Well, to be fair, i did to this last year. I think i made seven of them?
So, like, i'm assuming you mean you want me to do more?

I suppose I should have looked at the time stamp of the original post; I remember these original lists well. You've been absolved of the Buellerism. and I am officially stupid. Tangentially though, I wouldn't be adverse to the notion of seeing more of your lists.

I'd like to, too. Maybe after my short vacation i'll think about it. They do take some time.

Sitting down with a Lagunitas and going to re-watch "Oldboy", but now (finally) with the context that I kinda hope came with watching the other two films in Chan Wook-Park's "Vengeance" trilogy. Even if re-watching this doesn't help elevate my original opinion of the film, that it's the weakest film of the trilogy, it still wouldn't change my other opinion that these three films make up some of the most emotionally complex and original thrillers that I've seen in quite a long time. Will report back later.

Will report back later. I always thought that Oldboy was the best film in terms of shock, production values and memorable imagery, closely followed by Sympathy and then Lady. Like essien, I haven't seen any of them since I was about 19 (Roughly 14 years ago), time for a rewatch perhaps. You seen the remake?

No, I honestly hadn’t bothered with the remake; I’m not a cinematic elitist, so it was never for reasons like that, nor was it for the sake of originality, i.e. Hollywood doesn’t do anything original anymore, yadda yadda yadda... it’s really because the plot material is so unique and dark that I really don’t want to re-explore that material if I have the opportunity, you know? I did make an exception this time around because I’d seen Oldboy first mainly because of all the talk and praise built around it and then watched the other films in the intervening years, so I had wanted to re-evaluate the film now that I’d seen the other two. Lady Vengeance is my favorite film in the trilogy, and I love that film’s cinematography.

Really annoyed how it seems like every person I know says they love horror or scary movies then bitch about every single horror movie saying it’s not scary. Drives me up a wall.

I'm a highly sensitive person so I'll jump at literally anything, but there are some horror films that just scare me on a more psychological level and stay with me after the credits roll. I think those kinds of horror movies are pretty rare.

Usually it doesn't matter because i don't care if i miss trash like The Nun or every Saw movie.
But then something like Hereditary comes out that looks special, but there is just no way i could watch that. Sucks.

Ha, i mean... i'm fuckin scared, what else can i say? It's an unsettling feeling and it lingers with me for days and days. I don't like the feeling of being afraid of anything. Frankly i'm not sure why anyone does.

Frankly i'm not sure why anyone does. I guess it's the adrenaline rush I like. Similar to rollercoasters. In terms of the movies that linger with me, it's normally the paranormal stuff. I don't generally believe in ghosts or anything and I like the fact that a good movie can still unsettle me in spite of that.

Found it really fucking funny the other night, I was watching a Sonny Chiba film, The Bodyguard, (AKA Karate Kiba) and the film opens with a particular Bible quote, lightly paraphrased to emphasize Chiba's badassness, that refers to "the path of the righteous man"...
