I remember one of my old bosses was obsessed with fitness. Like, she'd be working out most lunchtimes and always have some fitness stuff planned after work. I think she was addicted to the endorphins. She also had this attitude where she looked down on people who didn't exercise, like she was somehow superior because of it. But then all she really had to talk about was fitness. Seemed like a pretty hollow existence. Personally for me it's the endorphines-thing too. Plus when you notice improvements you get super motivated to keep going. Maybe a bit overly motivated sometimes. idk. I had a colleague who would constantly count calories and calculate how much cardio she'd have to do to burn those calories again. Lunch was a real pleasure ;P Oh yeah, my boss was like that too. She'd totally judge everyone for whatever they were having for lunch. Like "ooh are you really eating all those carbs? Do you know how many calories in that?" I think it's really dangerous for OCD people to get into, when they start counting the calories in everything.

Does anyone else do kettle bell work outs? I have slowly starting to lose interest in traditional dumb bell routines and find myself ONLY wanting to work with Kettle bells.

Intermittent fasting really helps me out a lot. I know it's on the nutrition side and not really the fitness but for losing/maintaining weight its been great for me.

Does anyone else do kettle bell work outs? I have slowly starting to lose interest in traditional dumb bell routines and find myself ONLY wanting to work with Kettle bells. It is important to mix up your work out. Doing the same dumb bells will have you plateau, so go for kettle bell work outs! Also do barbell as well.

I've met my fair share of people who are super nazi about their intake, and it's just not pleasant to be around them or go anywhere. I totally disagree with "just eating well and taking stairs" is a good approach though. When you are young it is easier to gain muscle, and muscle keeps you from injuries as well. The older you get, the more difficult it will be to build up muscle, so you just go into sustaining. I don't want to be a fragile fuck when I get old. You might walk to work every day, but what about the other muscle groups you have? I don't understand people who blow off exercising completely with "I don't like sports". There are literally so many different ones, and many you can do alone. But like staygold said, once you start seeing the progress, then there's no stopping because you want to keep pushing it. I love challenges, and for me it's good when I can do something I couldn't do before. Plus it's good for your physical health and mental health. People who claim "they don't have time" are also most of the time just liars. Don't tell me you don't have 1 hour twice a week for yourself. It's not that you don't have time, it's that you just would rather do something else.

Agreed with Zeke. People who harp on about your calories and carbs or whatever are just dickheads in general, doesn't necessarily have anything to do with fitness. I started running in high school because one of my heart valves is jacked up and my doctor said staying active is a good way to track whether or not it's getting worse. I don't go lift weights at the gym (I did occasionally in college tho). It's always easiest to just say "fuck it" and cancel a workout (especially when you live somewhere where the weather is shit for giant segments of the year), but it's not worth it. Most of my runs only last 30 minutes and I run 3 days a week, so it's not a huge time sink and it's good for my health.

Thats what I do too and its helping a lot! I just started this year to go all crazy about fitness etc. My whole life I was kinda chubby and too lazy for sports. I always did something mostly hitting the gym but quite irregular. A little bit over 2 years ago I became a Vegetarian which resulted in quite a big weight loss which set a good foundation mentally for me but only this year I got really crazy with sports. My week usually contains 1 day of boxing, 1-3 days of running, 1 day of battle rope and then depending on how I feel etc 1-2 lifting weights and I always inculde a session of Yoga after my workouts. I still struggle with conquering my weaker self from time to time but I feel fucking great and set myself some goals for the future which imo is ver helpful to keep you focused.

Trying to cut back on sugar in my diet. I'm not overweight but I keep hearing about how bad it is for you and how it impacts your mood. I am craving chocolate and cake so much right now. There are so many alternatives to refined sugar easily available now. Try date syrup or agave or something. You can bake cakes with that too. Also there's chocolate with coconut sugar. And like someone else suggested: eat more fruit. I never crave sweets and I'm almost a hundred percent sure it's because I eat a lot of fruits. You can't beat a ripe mango! Strawberries and Cherries are my weakness.

Me as well, I have just been listening to him since the very beginning of his podcast years ago so sometimes it is a little much. I don't think I've ever listened to a full podcast though :-| only ever ~1 hour highlights at most. Plus I give 0 fucks about MMA so I only care about all the other ones.
