Is comcast the only option? No we have both Comcast and Verizon in this area. Neither one have everything installed, however the rest of the development (i live in the last section to be built) has it all there. Kinda frustrating. Hang in there man. Good to hear from you though. Can't wait to hear you back full time!

In the meantime, I use up a little bit of data from time to time but I can't do much on my phone.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying my dusty PS2 and listening to a lot of news, jazz, and baseball on the radio. And playing with the cat of course.

Even the big swing from the 40s and 50s. Fun and happy. They played some Thelonious Monk the other day and it was just awesome. And Flamenco Sketches from Miles too.

Can never go wrong with some Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis; 2 of my most favorites jazz musicians to listen to (another being John Coltrane). We actually have a radio station where I live that plays the classic American songbook and standards (Sinatra, Dean Martin etc.) like 6 days/week, and every Saturday morning they played a program called "Big Band Jump". Used to listen to this station all the time growing up, the fact that it was the only station we could decently tune in to when we were doing barn chores notwithstanding. The animals seemed to like it too.

Spoke to Comcast today - they said SIXTY TO NINETY DAYS, which is not ideal.
Spoke to Verizon on the phone after that, they gave a totally different answer suggesting that there ARE lines there, just not activated and their system seems to think there are none, but the operator seemed to think there were. Confusing. But if so, they could come quite soon.
Verdict: no idea.

Yeah if ever there was a time for me to do what Ed Norton is doing in that gif down there, this is it.

Followed up with Verizon the other day.
Basically they are probably never going to install lines. In what they deem a new "area" they need a petition from people living there that want it. Since the one block they skipped in this development will have literally under 30 townhomes, that's not enough people for a successful petition. So they will never come. The representative over the phone basically said as much.
How about that.

My parents are in the state for 12 more days. So that's how much more Internet i'll get because they move 500 miles away.
I looked into satellite TV and Internet and the options look awful. Solely DirecTV seems tolerable, but i would then have to get a landline for them to hook up an Internet connection, which of course could be something else to pay for.
Still waiting for Comcast. 60-90 days was a week ago, so maybe we're at 52-82 days now. I'm following up with my HOA rep and i'll see if she knows anything else.
EDIT: Cool, my 500th post.
