What’s Magic?
Besides this place and the usual social media, I have a few subreddits which I check in on regularly. Spend a lot of time on Twitter (mostly the football side, I run an account which focuses on Manchester City tactics/analytics). Letterboxd is cool too, like an IMDb community for cinemaphiles.
I feel like online communities were better back in the day. Nowadays everything has moved to open social media platforms where everyone is just shouting to be heard and the hive mind prevails. One of the reasons I like this site so much.

Various subreddits and podcasts that are specifically tailored to my interests, and likely you wouldn't care about. But yeah seek out some subreddits and podcasts about your interests and you'll be golden.

YouTube videos about food. Whether it’s cooking, traveling, educational. Love watching videos on food.

I wish I had a job where I could waste time on the internet for most of the day. My backlog of podcasts is in the hundreds now.

I used to work a full-time IT job where I had to find things for myself to do on a daily basis, so I'm subscribed to probably 100+ subreddits. Some of them are definitely niche and don't get a lot of activity, but they pop up on my feed every now and then. I'm basically completely off of social media at this point; my Facebook page is still "active" as apparently you now need it to use Messenger - which I've used to keep in touch with a few people for a while now - but I never actually use it for anything.

I wish I had a job where I could waste time on the internet for most of the day. My backlog of podcasts is in the hundreds now. It sounds like the dream but it was honestly soul-crushing for me. I was at work for 40 hours per week and did actual work for maybe 8 of them. Better to have things to do and be productive than it is to have to find things to fill up 40 hours every week imo.

Had this with my previous job in Poland, I agree with Ghosty. I mess around with a bit of social media (Facebook only for messenger like Ghosty). Mostly instagram and reddit. Lot of podcasts, some software engineering articles. I think I also spend a considerable amount of time keeping up with my friends in Hungary. Looking for new places to visit and/or eat at, writing review (urboi has 85k readers on TripAdvisor). We like playing Trivia games with the girlfriend, so a often just looking up shit as well.

Also working my way through Up and Vanished. Both dark true crime shit. See, I've never listened to any with a story. My current favorite is the Waking Up with Sam Harris podcast. I was subscribed to Joe Rogan for a while but he spams too many episodes out. I started listening to this guy who prank calls people too, and I know it sounds stupid. But its generally funny and on a deeper level it tells a story of a man who truly loves telephones and messing with them (phreaking) and his random conversations with strangers. which when I think about it is telling a larger overarching story.
