Hey guys,
It's that time of the year again to start compiling those best of lists so that everyone can learn what they've missed and spend half of 2018 trying to play catch up.
I'm gonna wait for The Last Jedi before my top 10 movies goes up but I'll whack my TV series one up shortly given that I'm not gonna get through much more TV by the end of the year (Aside from hopefully Rick and Morty).

So my top 10 in no particular order is:
13 Reasons Why Better Call Saul The Leftovers The Handmaids Tale Game of Thrones Ozark The Sinner Mindhunter Stranger Things Big Little Lies
Confession; I haven't seen the likes of South Park, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Rick and Morty or Vice Principals this year.

Game of Thrones The Deuce Stranger Things Mindhunter The Deadliest Catch (I'm a sucker for this don't know why) The Grand Tour Doctor Who (Capaldi get's stronger in each season and his last was no exception) Blue Planet II Silicon Valley
That's about it, I don't watch a ton of current TV and I think the only movie I saw this year was Spiderman and that was just because my friends wanted to see it.
Super pumped for Good Omens next year!

Films
1. Blade Runner 2049 2. The Florida Project 3. Mother 4. Dunkirk 5. Song to Song 6. Call Me by Your Name 7. The Killing of a Sacred Deer 8. A Ghost Story 9. IT 10. The Beguiled
I managed to watch a lot of films at the cinema this year so this is a pretty solid list. Still a bunch I want to see so it could change.
TV shows
1. 13 Reasons Why 2. Narcos 3. Blue Planet 2 4. Stranger Things 5. Better Call Saul 6. Game of Thrones 7. Vice Principals 8. Mindhunter
I couldn't think of another two shows that were worthy of the top 10 list but I'm currently watching Dark and PBS's The Vietnam War and they seem worthy.

I've got in the habit this year of going to the cinema after work. There's a big Vue multiplex next to my office and an independent cinema a little further down the road. Those are all great films and I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

Wind River 4. Good Time 3. The Florida Project 2. Manchester By The Sea 1. La La Land

Mr Robot is worth heading back to then? I was so disappointed with s2 that I didn't bother with s3.

It develops the story well and is a lot easier to follow than the past two seasons. Lots of questions from the previous seasons get answered too.

Can confirm PBS's The Vietnam War makes the cut. It's a big commitment at 12 hours but covers so many aspects of the war in great detail - the whole history of the conflict, the politics behind it, the type of warfare it involved, the most famous battles and moments in the press, and the reaction in America. The human story/impact is captured with a set of incredibly moving interviews with vets and civilians on both sides. It's all masterfully edited and has a great soundtrack from the era the war took place (lots of Rolling Stones and Beatles). I can't recommend it enough if you like learning about history.

Ken Burns' documentaries are always interesting to watch. His WWII documentary was fantastic.
