Curious as to people's favorite classic rock bands if any.
This genre has and always will have a strong musical influence on me, especially because of my dad.
Definitely love me some Foreigner, Foghat, Boston, Humble Pie, Frampton, etc.

The Monkees, The Beatles, The Allman Brothers Band, Pink Floyd, The Who, Boston, Yes, Iron Butterfly, Thin Lizzy, T. Rex, The Clash, The Animals, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Al Kooper and Mike Bloomfield, B.B. King, Roy Orbison, Pretty much all of Motown's roster of talent, The Hollies, Black Sabbath, James Taylor/Carole King, Jim Croce, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin et al. Literally too many to list entirely. Like you, I grew up on oldies, mainly helping my dad with woodworking or doing basic auto maintenance. It's funny, but as I grew older, my dad gravitated more towards the doo-wop and early rock, while my mom likes listening to soft rock and singer/songwriter stuff... they still like oldies, period, but this is the stuff they like the most. And yeah, this is definitely an influence on me as well; you gotta acknowledge your past in order to properly appreciate your present. My all time favorite classic rock band though is The Who.

Completely appreciate where you're coming from. My dad has his old tape deck collection stored in a briefcase type of case somewhere in my parents house, so he always had some kind of random goodies for bands and songs. My mom was big into the soft rock side along with other musical acts such as the Temptations, Four Tops, etc. Both of those have definitely had an influence on me as well tbh. Heck, I saw Foreigner live last year with Cheap Trick and seeing the only remaining original member, Mick Jones, still get up there and kick ass even though he is in his 70s was awesome. Also, definitely have an affinity for Southern rock as well - more along the lines of 38 Special or Hydra

If I can find some time for it, I'm thinking I might see Jethro Tull this summer.

I love about 90% of whatever is played on classic rock radio stations. I'm really not picky at all; almost all of it is good. Led Zeppelin i suppose would have to be my favorite. But i appreciate a lot of the 80s stuff too because that's what i grew up listening to.

I'm really not picky at all; almost all of it is good. ... Except when the stations overplay it to hell and back. Looking at you, "Sweet Home Alabama".

The same shit my parents listened to while growing up in the 80s. So The Doors and Zep. Some hair metal thrown in too.

If using "classic rock" as a genre: Van Halen. They rock my world.
If just talking about "old rock bands": Ozzy-era Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands ever. Pink Floyd is on my goosebumps list as well.
