We're almost at the halfway point in the year and I'm interested to hear what your favourite albums of 2018 are so far. I still have a bunch of albums that I need to listen to more but these are the ones I've played a lot and enjoyed: - Beach House - 7
- CHVRCHES - Love is Dead
- Nils Frahm - All Melody
- Post Malone - beerbongs & bentleys
- Rival Consoles - Persona
I'm not sure if it's because my tastes are changing or it's just been a weak year, but I couldn't think of a single metal/hardcore release to include. |

It has actually been a great year for Metal in my opinion. Here are some of the big ones for me this year:
Rapture- Paroxysm of Hatred (Death/Thrash)
Pestilence- Hadeon (Death Metal)
Visigoth- Conqueror's Oath (NWOTHM)
Cist- The Frozen Casket (Death Metal)
The Crown- Cobra Speed Venom (Death/Thrash)
Skeletal Remains- Devouring Mortality (Death Metal)
Gruesome- Twisted Prayers (Death Metal)
Dance Gavin Dance- Artificial Selection
If I had to pick one of these for the very best album of the first half, I'd go with either Rapture or Skeletal Remains.

I have a ton of albums from this year and last year that are going to make my end of the year "Best of the Rest" thread, but I kind of agree with you, essien ; not a whole lot that has come out that has interested me to a high degree. Been a pretty slow first half for full lengths. Some solid EPs (Ecostrike, Firewalker, Ironed Out off the top of my head)
Albums looks like what i was thinking the best releases hardcore wise are still to come. Spine will deff make my end of year list though
