The enemies in Cyrus's Ch.2 are legit hard. I see what you meant about using Ophilia. Even with her in my party, these battles last quite long. I feel like maybe I need to first get the other three travelers so I can decide the appropriate party for this chapter. It's currently very rough. Leveling next to the save point and yet Cyrus is above the recommended level. Lol

Little over 30 hours in about now. My main party are all level 43, and all are working through their second subclasses. Occupying my time around the Wellspring/Marsalim area, where the danger level is at 45 and is providing me with a nice area to level up.
[edit]: I finally got to take down a chubby cait!!!! Looks like a cat, runs away as soon as they can, and is THE single best source for gaining XP. If you encounter one, use whatever SP moves you can do to hold it down and prevent it from escaping, and take it out as soon as possible. A note though, these are more slippery than a greased eel.

I have had less play time these last two days since I'm preparing for the prerequisites of the job in Kunshan. However, I've got about 22-ish hours in. Still at the sewer entrance next to the inn in Cyrus's chapter 2, which I'm starting to get a handle on. However, I feel my party is inadequate considering how useless Alfyn is as far as fighting goes here, and a little bit H'aanit as well. Cyrus and Ophilia are great for the area though. Been struggling about whether or not to come back with a different party later or if I'll just push through it. I'm pretty committed now to pushing through this stretch now and getting it over with. Damn, I've been trying to pin down those cat burglar things and it's hard! I landed one hit and that's it! "More slippery than a greased eel" is more than a perfect description. Haha |

I was looking around Flamesgrace (or whatever Ophilia's town is called) for the shrine to get her subclass. Still didn't find it yet, but I went northeast and into the grasslands a bit and entered a throne where I fought a boss at the top. It was super easy despite being a level 25 throne. However, the thing had 30,000HP, so it was kind of a slow grind battle. Had never gone to a throne before, and it only granted me a treasure at the top that I still can't use because it's a sword...hahaha! Oh well. I want to find the cleric subclass and equip it to either H'aanit or Cyrus.

[edit]: It's hella NW of Ophilia's hometown, almost due W of Primrose's ch. 2 town. Exit out of Flamesgrace and head back to S'warkii; then your gonna have to take the trails up north over to the Western Stillsnow Wilds, and then it's a matter of wandering the area. There's also a place called Hoarfrost Grotto over there too, so that's an area akin to The Hollow Throne (your lvl. 25 throne). Have at it, my friend! |

I am not sure if I stumbled upon one a while back, but I feel I may have as well. Last night I found the cleric, scholar, huntress, and warrior subclasses! It was cool finding the warrior one because I don't even have that character in my group yet. I haven't equipped it yet, because I think I want to find the subclass of the merchant and use it instead for my 4th character. Almost able to cover at least one common weakness in every battle now. |

Was taking on the shrine of the runeblade over by everhold (lvl. 50), and actually holding my own in the battle, even though I got to the point where the boss had 2 turns to my 1. Everybody but Ophilia got killed and she was hanging on by the skin of her teeth, but she had max BP, so I was like “I’ll use max BP and use her revive.”, but idiot that I am, I selected “heal more” instead of “revive”. Sigh. Guess I’ll try again later. BTW, the apothecary’s “empoison” works like a charm in battles like this.

Okay, after about 3-4 more tries, I’m gonna have to rethink my strategy a little. I can get him about halfway dead or a little more, but then his physical attacks are too much for my party to handle and I get crowd wiped. Many of the answers I see when I google how to take this boss on seems to rely on the sorcery subclass to whup him, with the others healing, amping up the magic power and donating BP to the sorcerer, so I think I’m going to back off for a minute and see if I can find that secret sorcerer subclass shrine.

Finally returned and fought and beat Gideon! What's funny is that I found the random encounter fights unbearable but the fight with Gideon was fairly simple. Three of my characters can wield an axe, which helps. I am finally on to another character's chapter 2. Or maybe I'll pick up Therion so I can equip him with Gideon's Knife, if it's any good. Lol
