In my opinion, I am not fond of a 'rotation' of users picking films. Feels forced and makes the user be put on the spot for picking out a film; however, I understand that you are trying to put some structure behind our thread, which I admire.
Just my own lonesome opinion. Lets see what everyone else has in mind as well.

I can understand having it this way, as opposed to multiple people giving their choices and taking that much more time trying to decide on a singular choice. If anybody has an alternate option, I'd be all ears to hear about it!

Maybe have a couple nominations (like 3-5, kind of depends how active people are) and vote on them with a poll.

Sounds like a winner to me. I mean, people can opt out if they want. But I think the person picking a film might want to pick something they themselves have not seen, otherwise you're just setting yourself up for disappointment when everyone here doesn't LOVE your favorite unknown movie, or whatever.
Where is this next film accessible, by the way?

The only reason I wanted to stick a rota up now is because you'd still have like 2 months to think about a film choice. At the moment we're working on a film every 3 weeks or so, so it give the 'chooser' some time. If people don't wanna do that then it's cool, but at the moment it's a little chaotic throwing up films and trying to get everyone to agree on it.
I don't want this to feel like forced fun at all so that definitely wasn't my intention for putting a rota up, just trying to keep it easier to track.

Are we done discussing the other film now?

Make a film club thread for the new month, take suggestions, make a poll, ???, profit.

Even though it was nice that we all spontaneously agreed on the first (and apparently second) film, these shouldn't be popularity contests. Sometimes you don't know until you watch something. I feel like many of the movies i suggest will be ignored or disliked, but i don't care because i want that month to make people potentially watch them. We shouldn't be picking something just because we all think it looks good. Book clubs might select Atlas Shrugged or The Satanic Verses for the specific purpose of assuming some people will hate them but still want to be part of that discussion anyway.

Do we need a poll to decide if we have a poll?

I think all the poll would do is delay the decision on what the next film should be even further. Amiright?
