There's just six months left in 2019 and I thought it would be fun to talk about your favourite films of the decade so far. I'm not committing to a top 10 until the end of the year (who knows what could come out before the end of December?) but I'd like to see what your main contenders are (also so I can watch them before the year is out).
For the Letterboxd users here, you can filter your watched films list by decade.

Interesting approach. I'll probably go more free form with my list. Drive and The Tree of Life will definitely be in there.

I gotta admit I had a top 10 list for the last 30 years handy so this one was an easy one to pull out, but i'll include the full list for shits and giggles (These release dates were taken from wiki so they're all over the place with being consistent for UK release dates): 2010
A Prophet Toy Story 3 Buried Inception Shutter Island Winter's Bone Animal Kingdom Fish Tank The Town The Social Network 2011Drive Super 8 Moneyball The Tree of Life Fast Five Miss Bala The Ides of March A Separation We Need To Talk About Kevin Thor 2012
The Raid: Redemption The Dark Knight Rises Looper Rust and Bone Amour Searching for Sugar Man Polisse The Master West of Memphis Chronicle 2013
Prisoners Dallas Buyers Club Nebraska Zero Dark Thirty Before Midnight Short Term 12 The Selfish Giant A Hijacking The Spectacular Now Django Unchained 2014
Chef Boyhood Nightcrawler The Raid 2 The Wolf of Wall Street Guardians of the Galaxy 22 Jump Street Gone Girl Dawn of the Planet of the Apes The Grand Budapest Hotel 2015
Inside Out Whiplash Star Wars: The Force Awakens Sicario Foxcatcher Big Hero 6 It Follows Selma Bone Tomahawk Fast & Furious 7 2016
The Hateful Eight The Revenant 13th The Nice Guys The Fundamentals of Caring Weiner Nocturnal Animals The Wailing Hunt for the Wilderpeople Hell or High Water 2017
La La Land Manchester By The Sea The Florida Project Good Time Wind River John Wick: Chapter 2 Hacksaw Ridge Get Out Thor: Ragnorak Logan Lucky 2018
Three Bilboards Coco A Star is Born Hereditary Lady Bird Isle of Dogs The Night Comes For Us A Prayer Before Dawn Three Identical Strangers A Quiet Place Probably missed a few in there (Most notably world cinema titles that i haven't seen since Blockbuster died), but there's a bunch...

I don't movie very often so there are going to be some glaring omissions and odd picks here. I'm also not really anything Marvel/DC.
Dunkirk The Wolf of Wall Street Darkest Hour Moneyball Django Unchained Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them Zero Dark Thirty The Martian Inception Inglorious Bastards

In no order besides that which they came to mind:
Interstellar Your Name Scott Pilgrim vs The World Hugo Arrival
Inglorious Bastards Moonrise Kingdom Birdman The Imitation Game Inception About Time (after learning Inglorious Bastards released in '09)
Also I will take this moment to offer the position that 2014 was the best year for film of the decade (barring a potential 2019 heat up) We got: American Sniper, Big Hero 6, Birdman, Boyhood, Captain America TWS, Fury, Gone Girl, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Guardians of the Galaxy, Edge of Tomorrow, The Lego Movie, The Imitation Game, Interstellar, Nightcrawler, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash... Year was fuckin' stacked.
Edit: Honorable mentions to: 50/50, The Avengers, The Cabin in the Woods, Captain Fantastic, Django Unchained, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, How to Train Your Dragon, Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Lady Bird, Les Miserables, John Wick, Manchester by the Sea, The Martian, The Other Guys, The Revenant, A Silent Voice, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. I'm confident standing up for all of these films as offering something defining to their genre.

Ok so, inspired by stuart, I went through every year in the decade and made a top 20 list. I've also made a watchlist of the acclaimed movies from this decade that I've yet to see (there's over 100).
My current working top 20 for the decade is: 1. The Tree of Life 2. Drive 3. Interstellar 4. Once Upon a Time in Anatolia 5. A Separation 6. Poetry 7. Her 8. Paterson 9. Carol 10. The Great Beauty 11. Inherent Vice 12. Three Billboards 13. Manchester by the Sea 14. Shoplifters 15. Winter Sleep 16. Blade Runner 2049 17. Eighth Grade 18. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night 19. Nightcrawler 20. Night is Short, Walk on Girl
I'm tempted to do a top 10 horror of the decade too. Watch this space.

NGL, every time someone mentions the film Shoplifters my mind automatically thinks of the 1994 film entitled Shopping, with Jude Law, instead of the Japanese film that the back of my mind knows you are referring to.
