didn't they also do Honeyland last year? Definitely recommend seeing that at least once Yeah that's right. Need to find a platform which streams it. HULU had it last time I checked!

Perhaps a place to talk about this, but interesting that the first blockbuster film has been delayed by the coronavirus outbreak. the 25th Bond film, No Time to Die, has been endless promoted as an April release but it's now held back, worldwide, to November.
Thoughts? Think others will do the same?

Well, that sucks.
Depends; was there any other "blockbusters" announced for summer? I haven't been keeping up with a release schedule of any kind...

It's purely a money thing. That absolutely blows, but it can't really be helped.

Nah, Mulan is released at the end of the month, so I think it’s too close to realistically push back.

Agreed, but i'm astonished that Disney didn't hold it back. Losing the revenue in China is going to ruin the film. To date, 1917, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Dolittle were never released in the country at all. And every release for the rest of March has been postponed there.

Also, the SXSW Festival is on life-support as most major companies are pulling out: Apple, Netflix, and Amazon have bailed.

I reallyyyy hope that it doesn't affect the regular release date It's going to have a huge ripple effect, the cancellation of the festival, as literally scores of films were set to debut there. Of course many are likely to be acclaimed and surely get releases, but the logistics of that are incredibly difficult, as festivals pride themselves on being the debut arena for award-winning works. Now who gets them? Others are already booked up. Then of course there are the smaller movies that are bought at the festival after the first screening. What happens to those young filmmakers who were about to get their first big break? Again, the long term effects of this are going to be devastating.

Unless SXSW re-schedules their entire conference, which would possibly be a logistics nightmare but would be the most realistic and logical option.

I read they've stopped shooting Mission Impossible 7 as well because it's being filmed in Italy

Again, I am still astonished that Mulan is being released on time. It's going to be a catastrophe for Disney. Not that I feel bad or anything, but it's just stunning that they're going forward with this, knowing it's going to have depressed turnout because of the virus.
