Everyone knows that I fall laughably behind on new releases, but from time to time I do download and immediately listen to brand new records amidst my gigantic backload of files that currently stretches back to March.
My favorites of the VERY limited few I've listened to, in alphabetical order: ...But the Shadows Have Foes -- The Subject of Pain Bassnectar -- All Colors A Dark Orbit -- Parhelion END -- Splinters From an Ever-Changing Face Igorrr -- Spirituality and Distortion Kardashev -- The Baring of Shadows Krosis -- A Memoir of Free Will Neptunus -- Planetary Annihilation Of Feather and Bone -- Sulfuric Disintegration Sharptooth -- Transitional Forms WVRM -- Colony Collapse Year of the Knife -- Internal Incarceration
Surely missing some but that's just the ones that jump out to me when scrolling through what I have. Again, I have about 600 more albums I haven't even listened to yet, probably 100-200 from 2020 in there. So, I'll get there in time.

I’m working on my top 10, with an extended 11-20 list and then top 10 EP’s. Lots of my choices have been mentioned here. I’ll have it up before Xmas. I can’t wait to check out all the albums that made your lists that I haven’t heard!

Those are pretty good. You're supposed to play them all at the same time, right? Sounds way better that way than apart. Reminds me of that Full of Hell and Merzbow album.

Yo guys, Probably the worst year of the near past almost gone. Entertainment industry, tourism, accommodation and catering sectors have been hit very hard by the pandemic situation. In my country there were almost no concerts, festivals at all, but I have to say I discovered many bands on Spotify and a ton of great albums got release. I know I was not as active as in the past years, but I'm trying to be in the future. I look up to the site almost every day, read chatbox messages and active threads, but unfortunately I've no time to make conversations with you guys. This year was busy for me, I'm at work even now.
So, here's my top ten albums of 2020:
1 Boundaries - Your Receding Warmth 2 Movements - No Good Left To Give 3 Seahaven - Halo of Hurt 4 End - Splinters from an Ever-Changing Face 5 Caspian - On Circles 6 Everything In Slow Motion - Influence 7 Boneflower - Armour 8 Svalbard - When I Die, Will I Get Better 9 Mortality Rate - Sleep Deprivation 10 OHHMS - Close
And following my tradition I made a Spotify playlist of top tracks of the year.
(The first song perfectly describes 2020)
Happy New Year to y'all!

Blacksalt Your tastes are amazing to me in that you like music from so many different branches of heavy music. I admire that, and wish I was more like that. Within metal, I have a huge palette and love all metal sub genres with a slightly lesser interest in black metal, but when it gets into metalcore, hardcore, and all that other stuff I just can’t stay interested, but I wish I was, especially since that is largely what many of you cool homies are listening to mostly. As a result, I’ve not heard likely more than 80% of your lists’ content... but I was a little surprised to see the Carcass EP on there, because I thought it was a bit disappointing. Then again, I’m going to be disappointed if they don’t release something remotely familiar with their Heartwork album, since it was amazing. Haha Cool list~

Haha Cool list~ The problem is I just listen to sooo much music every week. This causes me to have to circle back to stuff later on and decide if it was actually any good or if I was just vibing to it at the time. I have a pretty open minded interest in heavy music, metal, hardcore, etc are probably higher up than say electronica or rap, but I do spend as much time on heralded releases in both those genres. I try and listen to as much new stuff every year and support new bands because I feel that rush every time I hit on a killer new song. Carcass can almost do no wrong to me, I’ve been a fan since the day I heard Heartwork so anything new I usually listen to almost exclusively for a few days after it comes out. That EP isn’t the best shit they’ve done, but it rubs my Carcass itch. Feel free to let me know if anything on my list interests you. Personally that Carnosus album was my favourite death metal album of the year.
