Kinda wanted to get peoples' pulse on movie trailers and if they think they ruin movies nowadays or not. I just recently stopped watching them for movies I know I'm gonna see and I've been enjoying the fuck out of a lot of them

I do think they have gotten better with trailers over the years. There was a time a couple years ago that if you watched a comedy trailer, it literally ruined the entire movie.
I really enjoy trailers, but only if they are done correctly and build excitement and not ruin anything. I try my best to stay away if possible.

I'll go through phases. Sometimes I'll watch every trailer that comes out, other times I won't care and I'll just go see the movie

I feel like horror movies are honestly the biggest culprit which sucks cuz those are my favorite :/

Trailers have become as much as a big deal as the film itself. Though sometimes they show too much and it ruins the experience in my opinion.
I think a teaser and a 3 minute trailer afterwards should be enough.

A teaser should just be enough.
Here is an example of one of the best teaser trailers
This trailer pretty much just spoils the whole movie.

It depends on the film they're trying to sell most of the time. If no one knows what it is, they end up spelling out the entire plot in the trailer. For stuff like Star Wars, they tease them really well.
Personally I'd rather avoid trailers nowadays as I'll likely see the film regardless with my cinema pass. Hate it when they spoil some of the big moments in films (The submarine in Fast & Furious 8 being a prime example - that shit happens with about 15 mins left to go)

I love a teaser trailer. And most of the time I rarely watch a full trailer/second trailer but if you go to the movies a lot you really don't have a choice which sucks. Luckily my local theater only shows 3 trailers and then the movie starts. In another theater I was they showed 8/10 trailers lmao.

Hahahaha, I've actually put my fingers in my ears, closed my eyes, and hummed through one of the Blair Witch trailers before a movie. And my movie theater is similar to the latter unfortunately

Not a big fan of trailers. Either they spoil a film I've been looking forward to or they sucker me in to watching something that ends up being trash. I still watch them though.

I like trailer when they don't spoil the whole thing and you still get surprised in the cinema.

It kind of depends on the lot fee or rental agreement. If you can afford a real house, you just want to skip the trailer altogether. That's a lot of wasted equity.
