Another year has come to a close for us here at The Daily Mosh. The year 2021 has undoubtedly been a memorable one. Honestly, I am looking forward to seeing the albums everyone has been listening to non-stop. Every year I enjoy making this post as this is one of my favorite threads to make. I felt this year was particularly notable for my sense of taste at what it had on offer. In my opinion, this year has been one of the easiest years for me when it comes to selecting my album of the year contenders. As we wrap up the year, I would like to hear what everyone else enjoyed during the year and perhaps check out some of the community's favorites.

I also always enjoy this thread each year. For the first time in a while, I'd have to admit that this year just isn't bursting at the seams with great Metal releases (in my opinion, of course!), so my list might be a bit less enthusiastic than usual. However, there are some really high highs among the great ones this year. I'll finalize and post my list a little later. Still a bit early. I know 3 releases that will appear will be the newest by 1914, Cannibal Corpse, and Havukruunu (that one being an EP).

Every year Between the Buried and Me releases a new album, that is the best album of the year.

I gotta wait a few weeks more since a lot of bands are releasing new stuff before the end of the year but, as of right now, a few albusm that I really enjoyed are:
Frozen Soul - "Crypt of Ice"
WristMeetRazor - "Replica of a Strange Love"
Jinjer - "Wallflower"
Untamed Land - "Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Form"
Ice Nine Kills - "Welcome to Horrorwood"
Just to name a few.

Beach House are releasing their new album in chapters over the next few months. The first chapter was the best thing I heard all year. I really liked the re-recordings of Fearless and Red that Taylor Swift did. The new stuff from Northlane and Shadow of Intent is sounding great, and I liked that one pop song that BMTH put out. Loved the Hans Zimmer soundtrack to Dune.

This was my disappointment of the year, that first track on the album i was like ooohhhhh shit, some teen punk, lil disney punk bop. Then the rest of the album was just so lame. I could just listen to the first track 10 times in a row, would've probably got close to my aoty list lol |
