Hi all !
So i'm going to NYC for a week this summer and was wondering if there's nice bars, venues, shops, etc that are easily missable if you're a stupid tourist wearing birkenstocks with socks and you dont' know the little treasures of the city. I'm talking about record stores, amazing pizza, sneaker stores (let's talk seriously), etc.
Thanks a lot !

There is this little hole in the wall Japanese soul food spot called Ichibantei that is a favorite of mine. You have to try the halal guys because it's the new staple of NYC street food and in terms of pizza, Pizza Suprema is my favorite. Flight club and stadium goods are the go to sneaker spots, also rare pair is decent. I suggest maybe taking a day to come out to Long Island because we have great food and a cool record store called Looney Tunes.

I wont be there for too long so i'll Keep long Isaland for a next time, I plan to visit a tattooer in that area so i'll do both the same time. I plan to go eat a huge steak either at Keens or Peter Lugers. I know i should avoid flight club because of their prices but imma visit anyway just so i can have a look at their sneaker wall and maybe cop a pair at an almost retail price haha. And yeah about pizza i'm bord ready to try them all ! But next time i'll find an accomodation closer to the village or williamsburg

Go to Niketown because it's one of the best Nike stores and they have a great inventory all the time you are bound to find something you like.

Dead Rabbits and Employees Only are two of the best bars in NYC, definitely check them out but expect hour long waits for a bar seat.

I was in NYC earlier this year and Flight Club really blew me away. My girlfriend had to pull me out there to not spend all of our vacation money.

There's a new Nike store in Soho which is a staple store for them, so definitely check that out..plus Soho is just a really cool neighborhood.
Pizza is tough because it's all good, but there are a lot of places that are just 'fine', while others are incredible. I'm originally from NJ so can't help you much with the pizza in the city (as I would eat it near home), but just be wary that you're finding some of the legit spots! Use Yelp or Google to narrow it down.
If you want cool unique places to eat, go to the Village...plus it's a lot of cobblestone streets and smaller roads that are fun to walk around.
Also, go see a Yankees or Mets game if you care about baseball at all!

Thank you for the tips ! i'll use google and yelp to separate good joints from the others, as for fight club, no one should spend money in there, there's alwas cheaper elsewhere, but it's nice to check out a pair with your own eyes i guess...
Using yelp to check reviews and booking a seat in a bar is really something i'm not used to do here in Europe hahaha.
Edit:
So far i have nothing booked except my hotel of course (midtown) and a tattoo. I plan on go to some museums and to walk around places (central park, high line, random streets) and maybe go see Fit For An Autopsy and Tombs in brooklyn
