Bummed over TJ Miller exiting the show after this season! He was a major highlight, but I think the show can still be good without him. Dang, I had no idea about that. Why is he leaving? He is such a vital part of the show imo.

He talked about it on Larry King and tried to make it seem like an amicable break, but King kept pushing the question of why they would let him leave, and he just seemed to not think the show was good anymore.

him leaving is alright because he literally walks around in the last few episodes asking what is the purpose of him being there haha

Yeah his character honestly wore out his welcome after the second season. I'd like to see him be integrated better into the core group, but there's simply nowhere for his character to go.

I mostly enjoy this show but it feels like it is going nowhere. I can't tell if that's the point (startups do tend to have these ups and downs and in the end its all for nothing), or just because the writers really don't know where to take it

I can't tell if that's the point (startups do tend to have these ups and downs and in the end its all for nothing), or just because the writers really don't know where to take it I feel you on this. I've been wondering how long they'll have Pied Piper come close to succeeding then fail yet again. Then once they do "make it", what story is there to tell?

Maybe they're going for more of a sitcom approach? I mean, sitcoms have the characters in the same situations season after season but it is the characters and the small stories within that make them worthwhile to watch. I've pretty much come to suspect if something good happens something bad will happen as well. Although they may be building up to something with Elrich being the source of the bad luck. I mean, where can a comedy show really go? Almost all comedy shows keep a sitcom format. As long as they keep me guessing and making me laugh and situations I don't mind. I do think HBO would be smart to end the show before it gets too tiring though.

Also, found this interview with T.J. Miller to also provide some additional insight on why he left and where the show may go without him.

I like that he's getting more candid in interviews. You can just tell that this project wasn't his top priority anymore.

Just finished the season finale. Excited to see where next season goes. I think they have a great opportunity to have Pied Piper succeed, and then all the madness that can come about with that. Many different story lines can be told and they also have the ability to introduce some new characters now since Erlich is gone.
