Damn it's so sad. I heard about it last night but didn't even really think about the amount of little kids that would go see her until this am.

I live a few hundred metres away from the arena and heard the explosion as I was getting ready to go to bed. I've been following the news since it happened. Absolutely heartbreaking to hear about the number of fatalities. I don't know how to process it, it's 1.30am and I'm totally wired. No good buddy! stay safe

Went to work this morning and got evacuated because of a security alert. The office has been closed for the day so I've been sent home. Such a weird feeling in the city right now, I've never experienced anything like it. Barely had any sleep but I can't stop watching the news.

On a bright note, seen so much from Manchester friends of people helping each other out (donating blood, money, giving lifts, helping locate people etc) all day its proper good to see. Shit note, some tshirt companies look to be trying to cash in already.

Neck Deep advertised a t-shirt campaign to raise money for Manchester, are any other punk/hardcore bands doing similar stuff?

I saw Martyr Defiled were donating all the proceeds from a show to the fund raising. Almost a week on, it's been really amazing to see how the city has come together. The police and intelligence services seem to have done a really professional job with the investigation too and rounded up the group behind it before they could hurt anyone else. Really interesting to hear that the Muslim community here had reported the bomber to the anti-terrorism police multiple times. The right wing scumlords in this country are always blaming the Muslim community for not doing enough to counter extremism. Seems like it might have been their funding cuts to the police and security services that were really to blame.

I can't tell you how many times my idiot father talks about crap like this, saying "so where are the moderate Muslims, huh?" and "you know this survey came out that said that 37% of Muslims want Sharia law, how bout that?" I'm so sick of trying to counter his points (one day i literally sent him 10 links to articles and websites detailing effects of Islamic societies and leaders condemning terrorism, etc.) that i hardly bother now. It's impossible to change the mind of someone who doesn't want to see it. Of course, with him being Catholic, i enjoy bringing up priests and alter boys as often as i can. Where are the moderate Catholics, dad?
