How often do players play for both City and United in their careers? It’s not that uncommon tbh. City got a lot of United has-beens before the takeover. Andy Cole, Peter Schmeichel and Owen Hargreaves spring to mind. Carlos Tevez is the only one I can think of post-takeover. Denis Law, who is a United legend, started his career at City. He came back to City in the latter stages of his career and scored a famous back heel against United, which at the time looked like it had relegated them. Turns out they’d have gone down anyway but it’s still an iconic moment in the history of the rivalry.

City vs Pool today should be good. Good match, Milner should’ve been sent off but City should’ve been more clinical in the first half. In the end I felt relieved to get the draw. Some memorable moments of individual brilliance from Salah and Foden.

A quick look across the leagues since we're at the halfway point in the season:
Premier League City could take a 9 point lead into 2022. With Chelsea and Liverpool playing each other in the first week of January, this is looking like a very healthy position to be in. I think we have the best squad to cope with the winter schedule and any potential Covid outbreaks too. The race for fourth place looks to be hotting up. United are still hilariously shit, despite their signings and the new manager.
La Liga Madrid should win this with ease. Barca are a shambles and Atleti are struggling too. Sevilla doing well under Lopetegui but it's hard to see them keeping pace with Madrid in the new year.
Ligue 1 PSG running away with it, nothing to see here.
Bundesliga Bayern running away with it, nothing to see here.
Serie A I haven't watched much of Italian football this year but it's an intriguing title race looking at the table. Inter leading the way but Milan not too far behind. I love watching Juventus fail.

Inter leading the way but Milan not too far behind. I love watching Juventus fail. It's absolutely hilarious to see United's fall from grace throughout this season. TBH I was a little unsure about signing Ronaldo and what that would do in messing up dynamics amongst already established players, and all it seems to be with Ronaldo is he's flashy and commands attention, which is nice window dressing but really nothing else. I feel that United is in for a hard reset in the offseason here, with them really needing to take a long hard look at where they are in regards to players and contracts and what they need to work on in order to get back into some semblance of vying for at least the top 5 next year. This continued mediocrity for them seems highly unusual for a team of their calibre.
