Wrote this on facebook earlier, but wanted to share it here as well because all of you are equally responsible for my progress and success. I love you marsh fam, and thank you for always being there for me. I am so incredibly emotional right now. I decided to go back to school at one of the lowest points in my life. My seizures were so frequent I was feeling braindead all the time. I was drinking and depressed. In January I had a seizure that almost killed me and took a lot of my memories. This morning I am looking at the best report card I have received since before my Epilepsy even started. No empty beer bottles scattered around my room, no seizures in over 4 months and I am waiting for my official license reinstatement in the mail. I am sitting here just crying because after years of hell, it's like I am finally out of prison. Thank you so much for all of the love you all have shown me, I can't describe how much it has meant to me and helped to keep me going. I can't wait to give it all back to you, and the rest of the world ❤️

Always nice to hear good things like this, hope you keep it up. Getting rid of an addiction is a great achievement.

I actually have epilepsy, and I will likely have seizures for the rest of my life. It has nothing to do with addiction, I was just fighting the seizures so constantly that I was constantly depressed and trying to regain full use of my head and felt sick and worthless, which lead to heavy drinking for a while which of course ended up only compounding the problem.
The main issue of my life has been, when you admit you're having seizures to your doctor, your entire life gets put on hold and your license is revoked until you can prove you're cured. So a lot of people with seizures suffer them silently because they NEED to work and drive, that's what I was stuck doing for years. I had a really bad one at work and suffocated on my own vomit until I stopped breathing, luckily I was revived. That was the last straw for me and allowed me the strength to come clean to my doc and suffer the hardships of experimenting with treatment options. I instantly cut the harmful drinking from my life and appear to have found the right medication combo to keep me in check. Thank you for the love, my brothers <3
