What are your thoughts on this? Will you be purchasing one? I still have a working SNES along with most of the games that they are releasing with the system. I'm still on the fence about purchasing one and possibly flipping it, but everything that I have read it saying that it will be easier to obtain, unlike the NES Classic.

I donĀ“t know. There are some good emulators out there. Even better than the original system.
You could easily build something with a pc or laptop for the same money...they could be total crap and it would still work

All this made me want to get into that whole Raspberry Pi home made emulator stuff.

I've also used the emulators for years. I'm guessing this is geared more towards those who have no idea what an emulator is or don't want to take the time to learn how to use one.

I'd like to get one, just for the games. If anything, I can lend it to some friends and ask them to mod it and place other SNES games on there for me.

The $80 price tag has me wincing a bit - I'll probably grab one if I can find for nearly half that much a year after release. I've been without these games so long it doesn't make a whole ton of sense for me to get impatient over them now.

I know Nintendo isn't going to have this in stock ever. It will be like the NES Classic where we never even have the chance to buy it. With all the hype that the NES Classic had people are just going to PTSD buy these. Afraid they won't have the chance or just to flip them on eBay will sell these out everywhere. Nintendo is the worst company in the world with meeting supply and demand. The Switch is still a rarity and I don't see that changing until next year after the Holiday rush. Wish I could buy one of these, but I'm not going to be holding my breathe.

I would have much rather they ported these titles to the Switch and released them for their shiny new toy - I've got nostalgia for the games sure, but the console and controls associated take a backseat to that in a big way.

I think it is great, a lot of people will definitely be buying the SNES for the nostalgia. As for me, JUST BRING VC TO SWITCH PLEASE NINTENDO.

I think the SNES Classic just like the NES Classic is an awesome collection piece for collectors item for collectors obviously but good for people who just want to play classic video games from their childhood. But because of their high demand and the way Nintendo is, we're probably going to see a repeat of of the NES Classic. It's so unfortunate that something as cheap to make is not able to be supported by Nintendo. I get that the Switch has become their main focus but they could be making so much money with these close consoles. These statements are nothing new to anyone I'm sure, but it's still just something that's so mind boggling. Hopefully Nintendo listens to their fans for once.
