Might consider getting one, since it has a few decent games on it

Nah, don't think so. Emulators offer far more games and customizability, not to mention fan-made ports and translations.

I don´t know. There are some good emulators out there. Even better than the original system. You could easily build something with a pc or laptop for the same money...they could be total crap and it would still work This. Especially when one includes features like save states. Makes finishing Jurassic Park a comfortable experience.

Maybe it looks nice and has some great games on but an emulator is probably a much better idea for a greater range of games

Really stoked about this, I wish the NES wasn't limited edition :/

I've still got my OG SNES...but the ability to save and rewind is pretty tempting. Also i like the idea of stability of the games. Had my Wii hacked to run emulators but the SD card mysteriously wiped itself one day and i lost all data along with an almost completed super metroid save file 😢

What are your thoughts on this? Will you be purchasing one? I still have a working SNES along with most of the games that they are releasing with the system. I'm still on the fence about purchasing one and possibly flipping it, but everything that I have read it saying that it will be easier to obtain, unlike the NES Classic. Pre ordered mine through EB. Should have it in a few weeks and cannot wait. I cut my teeth on the early Nintendo gaming systems. It's going straight in the lunchroom at work

Out this month! Did everyone manage to find one for pre-order? I'm getting mine through EB in Australia...fingers crossed they don't have any issues with distribution!

Nyet, my friend; wasn't expecting preorders to pop up at such random times and Amazon still hasn't shown when they'll preorder. Dropping heavy hints (jokingly) at my store manager that when we get some in to set one aside for me, as I'm good for it. Probably end up looking for it for months, and like my NES classic, I'll find it randomly 2 days before they announce they'll discontinue it. Sigh.

Never understood why gamers would fork over that kind of money when they could emulate for free.
And if you don't feel like stealing games, using the Switch or Wii would be a better option (if Nintendo could just get on board). The Classic just seems like a way to sell an additional piece of hardware that is so limited that it becomes mostly useless.

Sure, an emulator is easier on the wallet and provides access to a greater range of games. I think that's missing the point though. The SNES mini is a convenient piece of kit, portable enough to bring with you to enjoy a more casual gaming experience with friends. It has it's place in the market.

I think the SNES classic is great but still such a novelty that is overpriced
