I'm interested to know what Australian bands people from other countries have heard of and listen to? What are your thoughts? can you explain why? Because I never gave much about where bands came from as long as their sound is great. Because of my younger years I just got a strong interest in Belgium hardcore and their bands. But never thought about opening a topic about it.

I remember 2011 - 2012 when every Deathcore band decided to get Technical and a bunch of bands from Australia started to come out of nowhere.
Thy Art is Murder Make Them Suffer Aversions Crown Boris the Blade Signal the Firing Squad A Night in Texas Resist the Thought Alice Through the Windshield Glass Thy Devourer
They all sounded the same too. Same guitar tuning, same drum samples, same vocals, same lyrics, same BPM, same breakdown about 1:20 into the song.

I Shall Devour are certainly in that category but slightly more interesting than I Exalt (I do still listen to all of these bands but enjoy ripping on them too)

I just don't listen to them and forgot the name is all. I literally thought to myself "God what's that one band with the Cringecore music video with some guy with charcoal on his face and hockey puck ear stretchers hanging on a cross spitting out black goo from his mouth talking about how much he hates Jesus." Then I thought "Gee that could be any band really." And didn't bother hahaha.

Many of the best bands in the melodic hardcore genre are from Australia:
Hindsight Stepson Trophy Eyes Ambleside Vacant Home Dead Ties Deadpoets. Sleep Talk
And then some bands I love which are not melodic hardcore, but are close to that world:
Eat Your Heart Out Set The Score Saviour Hand Of Mercy Stories
All but one or two of these bands are super original too, and most of them have progressed hugely in their sounds, so they're all worth a listen (along with anything on Dreambound that comes from Australia)

I still jam the EP it came from though, it is very enjoyable

What ever happened to them?

Personally, I think Ambleside and Stepson are killing it right now.

Thought it would bring some conversation and also might mean you, or other people, check out bands that are mentioned if you haven't heard of them before.
