so when my partner and myself moved into our current house over a year ago, it was a path down the centre of the garden, with two gravel pits either side. i quickly noticed the sheer amount of cat shit, old and fresh, amongst the gravel. as you may know this stuff is rancid and fucking honks real bad. so basically i began getting rid of the gravel so it was less appealing to the cats and then began putting soil and grass seed down. the cat shit stopped, the fox shit also stopped, but now, the cats seem to have stopped caring about the grass, and shitting right on top of it. its doing my nut in and wana stop them for good, obvs without causing them any harm and that. so can anyone give me any advice on how to stop them etc? ive tried pissing in my garden as ive been told the smell puts them off, im also going to try coffee, lemon peel and cracked pepper. but if anyone else has had this problem but been successful, let a brother know.
if nothing else works, ill be getting a dog i reckon. because i do properly want a dog.
thanks d00dz

I've read that lemon or citrus type smells are a big turn off for them. You might also want to see if planting rosemary or calendulas in the garden help at all.

Dont know how the gravel looks but maybee you can put some big stones and big plants on it. With those thing in the way they don't have the room to do a number two. Edit: something like this

My neighbours get a few empty 2ltr plastic drinks bottles, half fill them with water and place around the garden. Works apparently, thankfully never had to try myself!

You've already said it yourself, but really, get a dog. Although it won't completely help, unless your dog will be running around a lot.

I heard putting spicy stuff where it may be sitting or bedding, will make the cat stay the hell away

Definitely get a dog. Cats fucking love gardens because of all the cool stuff to hide behind, shade and unfortunately places to shit haha
