One of my favorite threads from OG TDM was a bunch of people were talking about their favorite OG Metalcore bands.
Mine are:

Awww shit, my kind of thread. Too many bands to mention. Chokehold, Earth Crisis, Vegan Reich, Raid and Disembodied are probably my favorites. I think.

you guys got a lot of them!
Botch A Life Once Lost Harvest Norma Jean Mourn the Sun Animosity Antagony Converge
and because you said anything before '06... Job For a Cowboy (doom EP was '05) (that makes it hella tough bro! '04 was nuts for metalcore, I'd honestly say that anything post 2002 is not OG but thats just me)
shit it all depends of your definition of metalcore too honestly cuz you could say like 100 demons First Blood Rammalah Stigmata Hatebreed
...if you consider that metalcore, good thread brah

I don't listen to metal(core) that much anymore, but I've been reliving my love of Killswitch Engage recently.

Plus when you think about it, at that point that was 12 years ago so at this point their first albums would tend to be over a decade

Plus when you think about it, at that point that was 12 years ago so at this point their first albums would tend to be over a decade I feel you. although I can't say i'd consider bands like August Burns Red, The Acacia Strain, and The Devil Wears Prada , etc to be OG metalcore. I'd say that the true first metalcore bands all existed in the 90's. The second chapter of metalcore is 2000, then another resurgence in 2004, then afterwards 2007 had a shitload of great albums. And even that was 11 years ago. I mean fuck dude Underoath and Poison the Well were late 90's and even they were "later" metalcore. Totally not arguing just pointing some shit out, debates on music are always fun. Maybe I'm just old.
