Seeing that we've got some Marshers living in China and some people with an interest in China in general, here's a 'Chinese Music Thread' for all of you to share and discuss all that Chinese music has to offer! Let's not limit genres, but frankly, I would like to avoid this thread becoming a C-pop bukkake fest. Also, I don't prefer to be too politically correct so let's agree that Chinese music includes Mainland Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese music! Post away!

I'll be following this one. I only know one band at the moment, straight edge tough guy hardcore:
I googled 'Chinese hardcore'. Those results...

Well that was pretty awesome. It sounds clear that they know what and who they want to sound like, and it's really well done. Surprised I never found/listened to this band when I was doing my Chinese band research.

The enunciation isn't strong enough to my ear that I could tell or not. Sometimes I felt it was clearly Chinese, and then I thought I heard a "fuck you" or two so I wasn't sure. ...Chinese hardcore...LOL!

Tengger Cavalry: Chinese Folk Metal. This is from their 2016 album, which features a more true folk metal vocal approach with its throat singing vocals, but the older albums feature harsh vocals as well from what I've seen. I love the melody in the middle. The actual sounds from Chinese music present here and used are quite awesome.

Glitch Chinese hardcore, hahahahah stringypoo I've actually no idea if he's shouting in English or Chinese. Most Chinese' English pron isn't that good, so could be English... This band is actually quite okay, but I think KingLychee might be the most well-known Chinese hardcore band in and outside of China. I think they called it quit a few years back, but they have quite a large following in China. They often make two versions of one song, one in Chinese and the other in English. Here're two versions of the same song featuring Lou Koller from Sick of it All. Another banger

Chochukmo Chochukmo is an indie rock band from Hong Kong; to the best of my knowledge they’re still active and gigging. They have a nice, easy vibe to their music, and it’s fun just to listen and chill to them. chochukmo.bandcamp.com

Hiperson Hiperson was one of the first bands I ran across when scouring YouTube for Chinese music. They are another indie rock band from Chengdu, which is in China’s Sichuan province. hiperson.bandcamp.com/releases

Also, free sampler from Bandcamp: coreinchina.bandcamp.comYeah, it’s 6 years old, but it does make for a good starting point for those who are interested in modern Chinese rock/metal/core music.

Chinese Football Rock/Emo/Math band from Wuhan. Probably my favorite Chinese band atm! Firmly believe that they could be successful in the West. chinesefootball.bandcamp.com/

That first song you posted had a very lite Dance Gavin Dance feeling in the instrumental areas, but with a different vocal approach. The second song was different, but I still enjoyed it as well. Also, the music videos were nice. Thanks for sharing! Here's a band I can listen to in the car that my wife won't hate. Lol, especially helpful that she can understand the words.
