I know a similar thread or two has been made. However, I am not cool enough to enjoy the hardcore, metalcore, deathcore styles anymore, all of which I mostly find on the sites already shared. I am ONLY looking for Metal, like death Metal, traditional heavy metal, and other more vanilla types of metal.
As many of you know, I moved to China last month. The presence of the great firewall has been a nuisance. I could purchase a vpn to get around it but I really don't feel ready at this time, so it's hard to get music these days.
Blogspot websites can't be accessed here. Any websites anyone can share which would be relevant would be appreciated.

It's hard to find a music blog with no "-core" bands now, but here's one i like that comes close: deathgrind.club/And same for this, though you might benefit from filtering through the genres: technicaldeathmetal.org/

You can always use KingdomLeaks, as long as you don’t mind scrolling though their pages. I think they have the genres separated, if you want to look more closely for stuff you want.

As for technicaldeathmetal, I've been quite frustrated with their site in the past. Way too many pop ups and virus attacks my antivirus has to ward off. Do you have similar experience with that site? It's like I can't ever get to what I really need. However, they have great content.

I've been using Kingdom a bit lately. I probably shouldn't have worded my request so anti -core. I don't mind if I see those releases. I'm just looking for a site that is very dedicated to the Metal side, and I'll agree that Kingdom has a good amount of what I am looking for. I'm just frequently finding that they often don't have things I am looking for whereas sites like RealmofMetal has it. Thanks

KingdomLeaks is like a good, general search while RealmOfMetal is more specified. With that being said, I did get a kick out of RealmOfMetal the other day because I stumbled across the OST for Jet Set Radio on there.

Sometimes they randomly post soundtracks like that. I got the Persona 5 soundtrack there. Love that game!

I don't have much issue with it, but i will admit to getting something from another site if i have the choice.
Also, i don't use this site but it might have what you're looking for: darkport.org/

Hahaha, all three of those have given my computer hell before. Well, I'm willing to try again, but I must ask what browser you use. I think I've been using Microsoft Edge. I never got used to Mozilla and I don't have an Apple so Safari is a no go for me.

Use Chrome with an AdBlocker extension and you'll be fine. I generally hate non-builtin antivirus systems.

Most metal download sites will feature some core releases. You just have to deal with it, ignore them if it's not your thing. One of my most used sites for downloading metal music is metal-tracker.com. It's a russian site for torrents, very safe with lots of discographies, they are kind of fast when some big releases leak. I use it every day, I have downloaded 53 GB of music and seeded 31 GB. If you are into that, I recommend you use it. You can even look up for bands through name, genres and even countries (that last one works especially for me when a band from my country Venezuela leaks on that site).
Other sites you might dig are deadpulpit.com (if you like doom/black/grind), deathgrind.club and if I came across another site that fits on your likes, I will happily share it with you.

For a long time, those were the only two I ever visited. However, I need a vpn to access both now. I will finally purchase a vpn next week however, since I finally decided which one I will trust to get me across the Great Firewall of China. Everything points to Express VPN but then everyone tells me that they bought it and it sucks, so I have been waiting to see which one doesn’t suck for China. Gonna buy Astrill and then I can finally check Frostdomain daily again like I used to in the States.

I’ve never used Opera before nor have I tried a built in browser vpn. I think it’s worth a try, but I can’t expect much since foreigners living in China pretty much exclusively discuss paid vpn services like Express, Nord, Astrill, and a bunch more. I’ll look into it for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
