maybe not relevant to anyone outside of the UK but one of the UKs most notorious prisoners has died ages 79. Moors murderer Ian Brady, who killed five children alongside Myra Hindley (died 2002, aged 60) has died, Ashworth Hospital has confirmed. The child killer was receiving end of life care at the secure mental hospital where he was being detained in Merseyside. In December it was revealed that he was suffering from inoperable lung cancer. Brady, and his co-accused Hindley murdered Pauline Reade, 16, John Kilbride, 12, Keith Bennett, 12, Lesley Ann Downey, ten, and Edward Evans, 17. The pair tortured the children in the 1960s and four of the victims were buried on Saddleworth Moor in the South Pennines. Brady was jailed for three murders in 1966 and had been at Ashworth since 1985. He and Hindley later confessed to another two murders. Brady revealed the location of 4 of his victims but the location of Keith Bennett will be something he takes to his grave with him.

Lung Cancer is child's play compared to what he deserved (no pun intended). Would have made his old ass drink petrol.

Hes wanted to die for quite a few years. been on hunger strike since late 80s/early 90s but due to being incarcerated in a secure hospital and not a prison they've had a duty of care to force feed him by tube. a few years ago He tried to prove he was fit for normal prison as force feeding wouldn't happen there and he'd be free to die.

Feel bad for Keith's parents. If you're in prison for life anyway and you've confessed to 4 of the 5 then what's the point in keeping one secret?

Just read an article about him recently and his desire to die. This seemed like a truly disturbed individual... but I guess he played the long game and smoked himself to death.

this happened like a 10/15 minute drive away from my parents house. Which was always pretty weird, its just a wasteland up there. Goes on for miles.

feel sorry for the family that couldn't find the place he buried their kid It's been 50 years, so quite possible that the parents were no longer alive. But I totally agree, it's terrible

But I totally agree, it's terrible his mother died a few years ago. Her other son is still alive though. Several people and now coming out saying they have clues as to where hes buried. A doctor from the secure hospital Brady was at claims it was near a stream and a fence, with a shovel left close by in the stream. Letters were supposedly sent from Brady to his mother about the location but the letters have never been found. For the people outside of the UK who were'nt aware of what Brady and Hindley did, it's well worth having a read about it if you've got a bit of spare time.
