Pallbearer just finished up a new album in the studio and it's slated for a first quarter 2020 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

Honestly the only doom band I even like anymore is Thou but even then they play too long omfg when I read it I remembered of something that happened at Fluff Fest in Czech Republic last summer. My friends and I went for a walk to a forest in the middle of the night. We heard some slow metal band playing a gig in the background. It felt so unreal, dark and the echo and distant sounds were evil af. It was creeping us out but in a cool way. Turned out it was Thou. LIVE. I'll never forget that moment and I'd love to experience something like that again so yeah, my fav doom metal band is fucking Thou Hell yeah! Wilder saw em in a basement in Nashville recently

I probably posted these guys somewhere before, but they really need a mention this month.
Cirith Ungol: A band who gave it a big shot in the 80s, but were way too unique to make the money they needed and called it quits, despite dropping a godly album called King of the Dead in 1984 that I come back to all the time. So glad these guys put the band back together. They have since gotten extremely good treatment from Metal Blade Records, who signed them and made a collectable record box which compiles their older material into a jewel box set which is really nice and I want to buy it. Anyway, the band recently released an incredible live album which contains pretty much all of their old songs, in addition to this single they released in 2018 to hold us over for their upcoming album, which finally will release end of this month! Are they doom metal? In bits and pieces, yes. They are also a trad heavy metal band. And also epic heavy metal. So, Epic Heavy/Doom. But they're also often not doomy and also not epic sometimes. So they're a chameleon. Just listen. They clearly borrowed some influences of Black Sabbath, but also have their own thing going on. Brilliant band, and easily one of my favorites of all time. The upcoming release is my #2 most important release of the year.

King Witch: Heavy/Doom band from the UK. It’s going to be impossible for me to do a write up of this band without talking about vocalist Laura Donnelly, who as far as this moment and as far as I’m concerned, has one of the biggest and most commanding voices in the metal world. She is seriously a star. She has a massive range with incredible power to deliver every note. Her voice is particularly soulful, almost bluesy at times. Amazing. Simply amazing singer. Any band who can have her will be the luckiest band. What to expect from the band? Some of the album is early Black Sabbath inspired, while other tracks produce a more modern sounding doom that is less doomy than you’d expect from a doom band. I don’t believe anyone needs to like doom metal to appreciate what’s going on on this record. On this track, I really love the change of pace that happens at 4:20 (yeah! Seriously!), as it gets me head banging like a fool.

Finally a new Doom record I'd like to share and talk about!
Conan: British Doom/Stoner/Sludge band that definitely have their own sound. The vocals align more with the sludge band category while the riffs are straight Doom and Stoner, but without the bluesy side that stoner-doom often has. This shit is just straight up dense, heavy, and headbang-worthy. This music video perfectly captures the vibe of the band's music as the second half of the video and song is absolutely hypnotic, and well...the video portrays that perfectly. Also, for those curious and watching this, the actual band is totally not these women on the stage. It's a really trippy video. haha! Hard to pick the right song to showcase this album, but I've been digging this record for a while now! If you like heavy and slow breakdowns, you might find something here to sink your teeth into as well, as this is a farcry from your typical Doom Metal.
