I have a question for everyone in here, feel free to answer if you would like: Why do you think Trump is a bad president? From my international perspective, I think he lacks any integrity or self awareness. These should be the most basic traits of any world leader. He divides people further instead of uniting them, and lacks any compassion for people who disagree with him. His post-truth politics are dangerous for democracy and more importantly the planet. I honestly despair at the set of circumstances which have got us to this point.

I honestly despair at the set of circumstances which have got us to this point. While I can only agree with all of your points, I like that you brought up the international perspective angle, as living in China recently has allowed me to gather quite a variety of opinions on this presidency. Of course almost all Chinese here despise him, but during the campaign trail most Chinese people had a different image of the man, at least from my experiences here. They saw him as a successful and smart businessman, surely with a plan to boost economies and help China immensely. Of course China is now furious. But another thing that surprises me is how many non-Chinese foreigners I meet here from various countries who think Trump is brilliant and all good news. I was especially stricken with dumbfoundedness when I got on a train from Shanghai to Kunshan one morning and my seat was next to a guy from Iran (or Iraq...my memory for this isn’t great anymore...). He was a lovely fellow, but once our conversation got towards the fact that I’m an American, he was so eager to ask my opinion on Trump. He praised Trump, but I first showed little interest in the topic and that I disapprove of the president generally. But this guy was sold on Trump as a great leader. And you know what, guys? I get that same angle from surprising people of surprising home countries over here. It’s bizarre, because I can only see that Trump shows considerable disrespect to other countries in the world...

It really is surprising that someone from Iran or Iraq would have this view of Trump. Especially considering his country would've been subject to the Muslim ban. Then there's his policy on Israel. Maybe he just sees a strong leader who does whatever he wants and he respects that?

Maybe he just sees a strong leader who does whatever he wants and he respects that? I’ve found that a lot of supporters of him are people who are or would be negatively impacted by his policies and everything. I’m only left to wonder if those people respect a leader who says and does whatever he wants.

I’m only left to wonder if those people respect a leader who says and does whatever he wants. My own country seems to be going this way, sadly. I think Boris is going to be the most authoritarian leader we've had since the monarchy ruled. People seem to be fatigued by political debate and just want someone who 'gets the job done'. I wonder how much of this is a reaction to new forms of media/technologies as opposed to the actual issues at stake. People get constant news updates on politics in ways they never used to and there's the unending debate/arguments on social media. Society doesn't seem to be adapting to these developments in a positive way and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. And negative messaging always seems to have the most cut through. Sorry if I'm rambling.

I'm still waiting for the Americans to rise up and plan to overthrow Trump and tell him to fuck off. If it can happen in the middle east why not in the states. But then again, he just probably going to place a massive police/military force and tell them to shoot on sight.

Trump is a great fit.

But then again, he just probably going to place a massive police/military force and tell them to shoot on sight. Problem is, majority of americans don't have that much pride to do anything like that. Sure, we have our protests here and there but it'll never be enough like some of these countries *cough cough* HK *cough cough*. Most people don't care, and still revolve on voting which..nvm.
But then yes, you do have to worry about military force especially if protesters were to go off and start something. Again, most americans really don't give enough shit to do anything so we're stuck twiddling our thumbs and making angry tweets on twitter/facebook.
Trump is a huge embarrassment as president, and even more so than Bush around 9/11. It's pathetic that he was even voted into office, and it just goes to show what a joke of a country we are. It's been like this for a long time, especially when Obama was voted in. Our politics are a joke, and that's why everyone laughs at us when it comes to this shit. It's also why I stay out of this shit because everyone tries to take it so seriously, like they know everything and they know what's good for this country. Truth is, everything we want as a country will never happen because this government is so corrupted, our white house is a joke, our senate are all old fucking zombies, and not to mention what actually happens behind our backs.
It's 2020 and people still believe this country is ran by the book, the same shit our forefathers believed in or whatever the fuck they actually believed it. Both sides are a fucking mess, but Trump is literally the silliest thing we've done since flying planes into 2 fucking buildings.
