OP sounds like suhoney.
For real though, I've been following the whole Trump saga from the UK via Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Melissa McCarthy and Seth Meyers. It's comedy gold on a daily basis.

I really don't think he gets elected for another 4 years if he even manages to fill the first 4 years.

I really don't think he gets elected for another 4 years if he even manages to fill the first 4 years. That's really a question I think about a lot. I'm a political and news junkie. My breaks at work involve eating a sandwich and reading the internet blogs and news as much as i can. Then i get home and do it again. Then i do it before i go to sleep. But i was still absolutely blindsided by his win in November. Now it seems silly to have doubted it, but you had major respected publications saying the election was in the bag for Clinton (literally Huffington Post's algorithm was 99% victory) and i didn't see it coming. So it made me doubt everything! I always knew there were many "low information voters" (one of my favorite political terms, along with "cross-cutting cleavage") out there, but it just shocked me how he won. Anyway, this thread isn't for that, and i'm not here to bash people for legitimately voted for him for semi-valid reasons. My rambling point is... why the hell couldn't he win another term? What has he done that would turn his supporters away? You know that his favorability (hm, not a word?) rating among Republicans is over 80%?? Really! If the Democrats roll out another candidate no one is impressed by, they'll lose again. You might as well just have Dwayne Johnson run because at least he's good on camera. I dunno. That's a topic for another day. Getting way ahead of ourselves. Let's see what Russiagate brings. By the way, this has my pick as one of the greatest Time covers i've ever seen:

By the way, this has my pick as one of the greatest Time covers i've ever seen: I feel like modern communication methods are the reason it's come to this. The way we consume information has been dumbed down and truncated, attention spans are shorter, everything is reactive and big complex issues end up getting squashed into 140 characters. In the end it's the most polarised opinions that prevail.

But i was still absolutely blindsided by his win in November. It wasn't all that surprising. He was a populist candidate. I follow radical politics so it was easy to spot the wave of populism. My rambling point is... why the hell couldn't he win another term? He has been alienating his base by shifting his cabinet around and bombing Syria. People have become war weary after the last decade of failures. Furthermore, he completely failed with healthcare. And he hasn't implemented any of his key pledges yet and has been irresolute when addressing his commitment to them (wall etc). I agree with your point about the Democrats though. They are completely failing to bounce back. They are not willing to fight fire with fire and put forward a more radical candidate. Establishment candidates will flounder from here on out unless they are celebrity tier. The election is the Democrats' to lose, and they most likely will lose with their current trajectory.
