Anyone playing Cyberpunk 2077?
I preordered it and played a couple of hours at the weekend but I'm thinking of shelving it until they release more patches and/or the next gen upgrade comes out. It looks pretty amazing on a PS5 (nothing like the shit show on the base last gen consoles) but I've encountered a couple of game breaking bugs already which doesn't bode well. I'm enjoying Valhalla a lot more than I expected and I have a backlog to play through while they get it sorted, so I don't feel a massive urge to play through it immediately.
I did enjoy giving my character a big fat dong-along though.

I have an interest in Cyberpunk, but given all the reviews of how buggy it is I'm going to wait for the first price drop so they have time to tidy everything up.

What have I done?! I already have a major card battle addiction with Eternal Card Game (the best gaming decision I’ve made in a long time personally) but finding out that Magic the Gathering Arena will arrive on mobile soon ramped up my nostalgia for MTG so I jumped the gun and began downloading MTG Arena today! Given I’m very loyal to Eternal, but nostalgic for Magic the Gathering, this is the end of my productive life outside of school. Lol

I'm feeling a Souls/borne fever coming. I might have to plug in the old PS4 and play some Bloodborne!

Well, I never got around to pulling out my PS4 for some Bloodborne. Instead, I discovered a couple of days ago that Magic the Gathering Arena is now on mobile! I’ve been playing it along with Eternal Card Game over the weekend. These two games are nearly the same thing, so it seems like I need to choose one and ditch the other. However, they’re both just different enough that I can’t put either down. I’ve been so long term invested in Eternal already, having played daily since the beginning of COVID-19, and I’ve been a longtime nostalgic fan of MTG since playing it in paper format as a high schooler back in 2006-2007.

Is there a few cons I could easily list, of course but I'm sure you've already read about them. The story had me sucked in, but the side quests were easily my favorite. They really nailed the characters in the game, even with V, I think they did a fine job for a protagonist. I'm definitely waiting for them to fix it up a little more until I start playing again, however I did complete the story fully already.
Tl/dr - Loved the game, however I would definitely wait until they patch more..sadly.

Yeah, I’m still waiting for that next gen patch. The Cyberpunk case is sitting on my shelf as a depressing reminder of bad game development. I’m not mad to be honest, if anything I look at it like I contributed to some Kickstarter because I know they’ll have the game fixed in at least a year or two and I’ve already paid for it.

Isn't it crazy how nowadays they'll release broken games just to get them out? I guess it's not exactly different from the old days of NES and all, as there were plenty of awful games back then too. But now there is at least the ability to update and fix them after release, so that's helpful at least. I don't know, but I kinda think they should just hold onto a game until it's really truthfully ready for a proper release.

Imo the problem is that they have delayed the release date multiple times prior to this, and I don't think the investors wanted to delay it any longer. They probably felt that people would buy it regardless of the reviews (which actually did not mention any of the issues), so the income would outweigh the tank in the company's profile. Sometimes in software engineering the approach is that the core functionality is there, and the rest can be fixed up later. Unfortunately for console players, they were not considered the core functionality.

Interesting new trend with Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding both getting director's cut editions. They're two of my favourite games from recent years so I'm happy to have another excuse to play them again, on the PS5 in 4K this time. I just wish next gen games weren't so expensive.

Yeah, I saw the rise in prices on current gen games and it really makes me feel much better about dropping out of the gaming habit. I’m just not willing to pay $70 or more for a new game. That’s nuts. I’d only do that for a Souls title. But no doubt the gaming looks incredible.

You can also just be a few years behind and game casually and snag games on sales. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Imho saying "glad I dropped out of gaming" just because new games are expensive is like saying "glad I don't go to the museum anymore" just because you have to queue at the Louvre.

I used to always buy games after the prices dropped. Definitely never bothered me to do that. Strange for me to see that certain games still keep high price tags like Breath of the Wild. I thought surely it’d at least drop $10 or so. I wasn’t saying the price hike is the reason I’m happy to be out of the gaming habit. I just mean the timing of the price increase feels kinda funny. I’m also not really glad I’m not into gaming much anymore either, as it further disconnects me from people around me and online. I never really stopped liking it. Just never found much time for it. Plugged in my PS4 to play it maybe 10 times since moving to China in 2018. Just couldn’t keep up with it honestly. Then again, my habits for the gym have increased. I may have just replaced it with going to the gym. Lol

I have no idea what to play anymore. I keep downloading games and uninstalling them after lol. I just restarted Dishonored 2 again, hoping to finally beat it this time. The last story driven game I played was Cyberpunk 2077 and I loved every second of it Really looking forward to that new Icarus game tbh. Made by Dean Hall aka creator of DayZ

Having been a HUGE fan of Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5, I was more than curious to try a mainline Shin Megami Tensei title since there are so many cross over elements including same monsters/shadows/demons and battle mechanics, and therefore I am super excited that Switch will FINALLY receive Shin Megami Tensei V on November 12th. I’ve actually been awaiting that title for more than two years! This is exactly what I needed to push me to eventually pick back up my Switch. At the moment, I’m halfway through Persona 5. I’ve not felt this excited about gaming in years.
