What's gonna happen with Messi then? Does he stay? City? Inter? Back to Argentina? Can't see who else can afford him/he would want to join Most likely outcome imo is he forces some changes at the top of the club and stays. City seem to be most likely to sign him if he does leave, although I’m not sure how the numbers would work. I’d be the happiest marsher alive if it does happen.

That'll be some power play if he does get the President to resign. In a way it's probably best to rebuild Barcelona, either with or without Messi. If they let him go though, it could damage the club for years. Apparently PSG are trying to get him to sign. Imagine Messi / Neymar / Mbappe up top. Scary.

It would be amazing but I have no idea how PSG could balance the books with such high earners. Not like they have the TV revenue of a Premier League side. I think Barca’s finances and squad are so fucked that selling Messi might not be the worst thing for them. They need a rebuild and Messi won’t be around to bail them out forever. Their player wage bill is huge and an unhealthy amount of their turnover goes towards funding it. If they could get a €150m fee for Messi and free up €100m/year on the wage bill, that might go some way towards rebuilding the squad.

Double post. The Messi to city saga was awesome. I was ready to pop off a jersey instantly.
Barca in shambles. Bayern looking really strong this upcoming season. Hazard looking like a bust in Real if he can’t get fit again. Koulibaly saga with Napoli is ass, but I like the new pick ups from city. United and Chelsea looking really great this year imo. Big 6 still doesn’t look to have the same depth as city, particularly hurting Liverpool this season I bet. Everton with some good signing too, possibly Europe for them??
Been a weird year for soccer but it’s been amazing to watch. Gg Liverpool on the league. Don’t think I said that since it happened.

Everton are a funny club - I feel like they've spent loads over the past few seasons and have somehow gone backwards. They've got an amazing manager now but the squad has a lot weaknesses and some of the senior players are past it. That said, I'm excited to see James in the Premier League, him and Richarlison could be deadly together. As for City, I don't feel like we've addressed the defensive issues in the squad yet. We really need to get Koulibaly over the line or it's going to be the same story as last season. A left back wouldn't hurt either, I can't believe we'd go into another season with a ridiculously injury prone first choice and a backup who's playing out of position.

Everton's problems are a mixture of a really weak midfield and Jordan Pickford generally being a nightmare between the sticks. Now that they've strengthened in central midfield they should be better this season. Gonna be interesting seeing how James gets on. He's a shadow of his former self nowadays. Napoli don't want to sell to City because of the Jorginho saga from what I've read? Chelsea is the interesting one. So much talent brought in. Still got the worst keeper in the Prem. Not sure anything will change quickly there aside from scoring more goals.

It’s the other way round with the Jorginho saga - City thought they’d closed the deal for him but Napoli sold to Chelsea instead at the last minute. They’re doing the deal through Koulibaly’s agent instead of speaking directly with Napoli, which is why it’s taking longer. I think it’s just haggling over the fee that’s holding things up.

Chelsea never stood a chance going to 10 men.
In other news I was forced to buy peacock streaming to watch premiere league. Used to be you get a lot of the games for free from cable. Now it seems you get 1 game over the weekend and the rest are put on peacock. So lame.

How much does this peacock bullshit cost?

What a cool time for the USMNT, we got players making gameday rosters at Chelsea, BVB, Man City, Juve, RB Leipzig, and Ajax (with a potential move to Barca or Bayern) and all these guys are in their early twenties if not younger. If we continue to develop like this and can put together some more pieces around this core we could have a fun squad moving forward.

This has been the best day of football not involving City ever.
