Anyone play the demo? I sort of like the moment-to-moment gameplay, but the endgame sounds like garbage (3 strongholds and a rotating story mission lol). It seems like they're going the Diablo 3 launch route and just having you replay the same shit on higher difficulties, which I hated. I'm also concerned that the loot is going to be bland; Destiny 2 doesn't have the deepest loot system but at least most of the exotic weapons are unique and weird (in a good way) and the legendaries are satisfying to use. Probably going to pass on this until it's sub-$20 and pick up The Division 2 instead.

I played the demo and got the game pre-ordered. Totally agree with the moment-to-moment gameplay being enjoyable but I don't suspect much from the endgame at launch. I'm hoping the story is somewhat promising although it is going to be a hard sell with how abstract and heavily sci-fi it is. Loot will also likely be pretty bland, although some of the guns had unique perks. Like one shotgun had a feature where if you hold down the aim button it would focus in on the sights and make the pellets land closer together the longer you held it. So you could get a headshot on an enemy and the spread would be tighter and do more damage. Or how one of the snipers has less ammo but has an explosive round. I think they have some interesting combos, especially if weapons combo with modifiers or apply them, but it is going to be hard to make any 3rd person shooter gun feel as unique as the 1st person guns in Destiny. My expectations are pretty low, but I enjoyed the movement and combat. I'll prefer Anthem over The Division 2, just because I'm not huge on military themed shooters, but it scratches the same itch for me. Interested to see how the game performs, what to see its critical reception is, and how it evolves as it goes on.

I haven’t done much past the first couple missions because I still want something to do when/if I get it. All I know is me and you need to start gaming together again.

Well I'm getting it for the Xbox, so we can definitely do that. I'm eagerly trying to kick my Save the World Fortnite addiction.

I think I can get this for free since I bought my 2060. Gonna have to contact Amazon since I never got a download code or anything.

So I know this game is basically a dead meme at this point but I think it's kind of fun. Only problem I really have with it is that it runs like ass, even with everything on low. It's probably not a game I'm going to play for thousands of hours like Destiny, but it scratches my itch for an open-world Iron Man game that still isn't a thing, for some reason.

They may have failed on multiple levels, but they nailed the combat and traversal. In the simplest sense, this gives it a arcadey feeling that can be fun to pop in for like an hour and dip out. Still got to drop more time but I've been back into Destiny 2 myself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
