I personally stopped watching after season 5 and can't remember too much of that season. I enjoyed the show in the beginning, I probably just burnt myself out on it.

I had so many good shows to watch that I just gave up as soon as I started to lose interest.

Can you please edit the topic title to "The Walking Dead Discussion Thread"? We used to have one like that and it is more aesthetically pleasing.
I watch TWD, but it's a bit slow for my taste, so I fell behind frequently, but currently I am up to date.

For those who havnt't caught up, you should. It gets extremely good and you wont regret it. I think the latest season was the best.

Love this show but I wish they stopped separating the group & doing these episodes-per-character thing because it's really hurting the pace of the show in my opinion. I know character development is important but I just wish they took a page out of Game of Thrones on the way they keep track of several storylines & implement that formula on this show.

The Walking Dead is a bit of a drag for me. They seem to bookend each half season with a decent couple of eps to kick off the season, have 4 eps where nothing particularly memorable happens and then end the season on a high. I think the difficulty the show has is that it feels repetitive all too often (They come across the next 'big bad', have a scuffle, lose some characters along the way, defeat them and move onto the next). Also the writing in the show leaves a lot to be desired. I get more insights into characters in a single ep of The Leftovers compared to an entire season of TWD.
That said, this show always has potential to be great and I can't bring myself to stop watching in hopes that it becomes excellent, but every 6 months I feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot by watching it week-by-week. I have a feeling binging it is the way to go - less time to think about it and scrutinise it.

I was really addicted to it the first seasons, but somehow got bored of it in Season 7. This seems to be a common trend with many people...

I've stuck with the show since S1. This most recent season was a struggle for me. This was also the first time I watched episodes after they aired as opposed to binge watching. It felt like little consideration went into the production. I also hate how moments felt super low budget. This show is on a decent network and should be treated with some class. It has the potential to be amazing. I guess I'll see how season 8 fairs. I'm hoping it will pick up pace and give us those 'WTF' moments again. I'm longing for a Rick Grimes freak out

Going to catch up on Season 7 the upcoming days... but the story is not really catching me atm All I can say is that it is a hell of a lot of world building this season. I'm thinking S8 will be more climactic and action filled. Also binge watch it in a session. I found that worked better (I rewatched a few episodes with my bro as he was catching up on the season and the show's pacing felt more cohesive that way).

I don't know, this season seemed full of action for me compared to previous ones. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
