Be honest with me. I didnt watch the last 4 episodes of this past season because I totally gave up on the show. I think its a hot pile of garbage now. With that being said, should I finish it up and get ready for Season 8 or dont waste my time?
Yeah, I must say that this last season was a struggle for me as well. It just didn't come together the way I anticipated it to. The first episode was so intense and shocking. There were moments of 'wow' in a few other episodes, but mostly it plodded along story wise.
I would say the last two episodes made up for the season. I'm going to give season 8 a shot and see if it can get back on track. I hope the producers don't rely on cheesy gimmicks and the show's reputation to get by. I'm keen to see them push the story outline, character growth, visual effect quality and the show's plot sequencing. The narrative needs way better pacing to keep things interesting.

I had previously given up on TWD after (I think?) season 4. But when there was massive hype around the things that were happening in season 6, it dragged me back around to get caught up. Now after watching season 7, I'm almost tired of it again. I think season 8 will be the last one I watch, unless it finally changes things up and stops going down the same route as every other season.
I was thinking about TWD last night and what I think one of the biggest issues is atm...
Things have become to idyllic for the characters. In the first seasons things were really hard and your possessions were precious commodities and literal life savers. Now it's like they have actual homes, caches of guns/ammo, access to medicine and decent supplies of food.
The whole scavenging and survival aspect is gone and now it's just about dealing with hinderances to their little utopian dream.
I kinda miss the characters going through hell to find a can of beans to eat. hahaha
I DID IT! I finished the last 4 episodes of season 7 after 5 months!
Honestly, I am quite happy that I took off 5 months because when I watched the last 4 episodes yesterday it really got me right back into it. I know the show is very cheesy now, the story line has gone everywhere and back again, too many (bad) actors, but I know all that now so I just watch it for the kind of silly zombie show that is now.
Excited for season 8!
