Id love to see Messi vs Joey Barton He's right thought. Messi wouldn't last long after a clash with Forster or Fellaini. I knew Manchester City (and their arabs) wanted him but I don't think he will leave Barcelona soon. I would love to see more english players doing their job in Spain though, last BIG name I remember is Beckham (Bale doesn't count to me becuase we all know welsh football with english football. Imo Messi has been linked with every major club, so I wouldn't say that the "City wanted him" was srs.

I subscribe to a bunch of city related pages across social media and I swear to god the amount of bs that gets printed is ridiculous. Just today I've read about us signing Sanchez, Donnarumma, ederson, fabinho, marquinhos, mbappe to name a few. Why wouldn't they print something about Messi? You're right, I'm sure its the same with every other club too. My friend did bring up an interesting point when we were talking about Messi a while back, that I never really thought about. Say you have a sponsorship with Adidas, like he did at the time, and got transferred to a club that had Nike kits, like City did at the time. I'd imagine the money involved in that mess would be nuts.

Hope Reus injury is not that bad... in the interview after the final he told the reporter it is something with his ACL It's a partly torn ACL, he will miss 3-4 months. So poor this guy, he has absolutely no luck.

The funnier side of the window opening up is seeing who City have released already: Gael Clichy Bacary Sagna Jesus Navas Willy Caballero Pablo Zabareta Almost an end of an era for these dudes. City must be having a proper clearout once again.

City's management has been lame for years, spending way too much on overrated players. Guardiola's a great coach thought, excited to see what happens as well, but changing half of the team clearly isn't going to solve the problem. United is the best example to illustrate it

United is the best example to illustrate it Have we ever figured out what Pep was thinking when he chased away Joe Hart to sign Claudio Bravo? IIRC he preferred a keeper that was much more proficient passing the ball, and not just booting it up field. Apparently even at the expense of being a solid keeper. Bravo had some bad luck with injuries and I'm sure that affected him, but I think that was such a wasted signing. And now this xfer window we're linked with Ederson to replace Bravo, as Hart's moving away permanently. But hey, its not my money I guess.

Hart is a shotstopper, not a sweeper-keeper. I understand Pep's reason + it's not like Hart was performing super well at Torino either.

United is the best example to illustrate it The difficulty City have as well is not chasing the same targets as the likes of Barca/Madrid to keep the peace between the clubs, so they're always behind held to ransom over players who aren't quite top-level.

Same difficulty as PSG, team that i'm following and that keeps recruiting crappy players that are overpaid

Love a bit of Di Maria/Verrati/Silva/Rabiot

Love a bit of Di Maria/Verrati/Silva/Rabiot Leonardo clearly did a great job back in 2011/2012 when he signed the Ibra/Silva pack and getting Verratti was also a masterpiece. New players like Kimpembe and Rabiot are also doing a good job. But the players that have been recruited since then are jokes : Krychowiak, Ben Arfa, jesé. And now they're talking about Aubameyang aha
