I got the Nintendo Switch about a month ago and really like using it. I don't have many games for it but the games I play most on it are I Am Setsuna and Mario Kart. Surprisingly I didn't want Breath of the Wild just yet because I didn't really have much interest in it. Mainly because I got Horizon Zero Dawn for PS4 and had more interest in that. But over all the Switch is pretty cool, the hardware is interesting, I just don't see many games on it that are appealing to me. I know that should change within a year though.
What are your thoughts?

I bought a Switch on launch and I haven't really used it to be honest. I want to end up bringing it with me on my daily commute to my work place but I'm afraid with it still being in limited stock someone is going to steal it. I've mainly brought it with me to friends to play 1-2-Switch. I played Zelda on day one and really loved it but ended up getting distracted by Mass Effect Andromeda and Persona 5. The last time I played it was when I bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but I probably haven't picked it up since. I definitely think the console is fun and well made. I think having the chance to bring more games on the go will prove to be something valuable to me in the future. Also, with all the great games they announced at E3 (Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Arms, and Splatoon 2) it will be even more worthwhile by the end of 2017. I think it is a perfect gift to get at the end of the year or next year with some of that tax return money.

I love it, put 170+ hours on Breath Of The Wild. I am pretty sure you can enjoy both Horizon Zero Dawn and BOTW at the same time. I play pretty frequently, granted I do not have the latest gen consoles such as ps4 and xbox one and I am ok with that.
We have Mario Kart 8 battles at work, so much fun.

I put damn near 130 hours into BOTW on the Wii U in the first 4 weeks, which is just unheard of for me anymore. Can't wait to get my hands on a Switch - will probably pick one up around Christmas time. Been showing my son the E3 trailers and he is pumped as well. I know it's not the most popular opinion, but to me, Nintendo just does fun like nobody else.

I honestly would love to enjoy both at the same time if i had enough time to play both haha. I'm going to get BOTW eventually for sure but I feel like i need to wait until I know I can dedicate a lot of time to it. I have a PS4 (for Horizon obviously) but if you ever get one, they it's a great investment. How do you like the split screen on the actual switch though? I feel like it's waaay too small for two people to be looking at such a small screen. I noticed myself really straining my eyes to focus on what was going on. That's just me though.

I played it and thought it was fun for a little while and only a few of the games are really worth playing. Other than that it for sure feels like a tech demo. I am really excited for what the switch will be by the end of this year for sure. Especially with the RPG that's coming out for it. I don't recall the name, but it's a weird sounding title. I'm also somewhat skeptical for the main series Pokemon games to be on the switch though. It's weird to imagine them on anything but the 3DS at this point.

I personally never play it outside of if I have other people over. It is a great party game and for sure something to show people who don't have a Switch. The best is how portable the console is I can literally just pop by anywhere and set it up and have people do stupid stuff like see how many sandwiches they can eat. Definitely not worth it if you want something you can play by yourself but I would recommend it as a fantastic party game.

Makes sense, and yeah Horizon looks sick! I will consider. I actually never played split screen on the actual Switch device, we either play against each other on our own device or move to a TV.

I don't have one yet, as I can't justify spending upwards to $600 before I'm satisfied with it (extra controllers, memory card, etc.), but I would really like to pick one up if the price is right by Black Friday. I sunk about 120+ hours into BOTW and really enjoyed the experience, definitely looking forward to playing the DLC. I do believe that purchasing by Black Friday, for me, would be justified due to what looks to be a solid and exciting lineup by that time. I would just love to hear more about Project Octopath Traveler, dammit. Don't leave me dangling, Square Enix!!!

I just happened to find one and have the money and didn't know when I'd see one next so i jumped on it. But I'm right there with you in terms of Octopath Traveler. That game looks amazing

Too bad the new Monster Hunter isn't on it either. I was definitely going to buy it if it was. Still thinking about it due to Zelda since that game looks like so much fun. But as tao said, it would probably have to be a sale buy.

I feel like the switch is dropping all the games that the Wii U needed to succeed. Now I'm interested in picking it up.

I also bought a Switch on launch together with the Special Edition of Breath of the Wild. Since I'm a huge Zelda fan, I already finished the game twice Anyway, I really like the console. However, it has some downsides like the memory space and some minor Errors, that occur from time to time. I'm definitely hungry for more games. Right now I'm waiting for Disgaea 5 to drop in price. And i would shit my pants if they localized the Seiken Denetsu Collection, but it's doubtful that this is gonna happen. I'm also really stoked for the new Metroid Prime that was announced recently and for the new Splatoon game.

It's fine their going back to Sony, because things will look great on the console but there was something about having Monster Hunter become portable that was amazing. Sure it was portable on the PSP but the 3DS is a great handheld
