started a re-watch just about to to get to finale of season 2, honestly season 1 has to be some of the best tv ever made? It is mindblowingly good, couldn't believe how well it stands up 15 years later. Would highly recommend just watching season 1 for a reminder. So good. Honestly made me want to be marooned on a mysterious deserted island with a bunch of misfits. Due a rewatch myself.

I remember the first time watching I was so obsessed. Wanted a Lost tattoo and everything haha

So I watched two true crime documentary series about the unsolved murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, a French woman who was killed in a remote village in Ireland. The first one was a Sky Crime series called Murder at the Cottage and the second was the Netflix series called Sophie: A Murder in West Cork. It's a really fascinating case that lends itself perfectly to the true crime series formula.
I thought Murder at the Cottage was the better of the two documentaries as it went deeper into the case over more episodes and the slower pace meant it really captured the vibe of the local area. Also listened to a podcast series about the case called West Cork, which was more of the same but fleshed out some of the detail.
Keen to discuss with anyone who's watched. No spoilers but it's a story that's as frustrating as it is intriguing.

I meant to reply to this earlier. Did you finish The Vow? It's fucking wild and the leader is such a creep.

Currently watching The White Lotus, an HBO comedy drama set in a Hawaiian hotel resort. It's like Fawlty Towers meets Big Little Lies, I love it.
Also working my way through Eli Roth's History of Horror. Horror fans should definitely check it out.

Pretty awesome that we got that big of a series on the whole thing, being able to get super deep into the personalities and inner workings of the cult. I do feel like it ended up being a bit lackluster, but still enjoyed it a lot. I listened to a great podcast about it as well, Escaping NXIVM. Check that out if you haven't!

Definitely not standard television, but I've been watching a lot of Critical Role late. If you're unfamiliar it's a group of nerdy ass voice actors that sit down and play Dungeons and Dragons together, they stream their campaign and it's massively popular and entertaining.
In a way voice actors are the best for playing DnD, they all have improv comedy training and come up with wildly engrossing characters. Now with a full production team behind them they really are pumping out some top notch content.

I finished a couple of docu series over the weekend: - The World at War: A super comprehensive overview of World War 2, made in the 70s but still holds up today. - Can't Get You Out of My Head: A 200 IQ analysis of power structures throughout recent history up to the present day.
Started a couple of slightly lighter shows this evening: Brand New Cherry Flavor and Cruel Summer. The first episodes of both were really strong. Will report back once I've finished them.

Recently binged "The 100 Foot Wave" on HBO/Crave, Holy shit what an awesome docuseries. Story of a surfer who found the biggest waves in the world in Nazare, Portugal. Not a surfer at all, and frankly I'm terrified of the sea, maybe that's why I thought this series was insane. Edge of the seat stuff. Check it out if you have time.
