Update since my last post: - Finished Squid Game. My interest in it fizzled out towards the end, I just didn't feel a connection with the characters. Lots of good set pieces though. - On the final episode of I Know What You Did Last Summer. It's been awful but I'm a completist so I have to see it through. - Still watching Foundation. It's not great but there's some interesting characters and it's nice to look at. - The Raincoat Killer. Like watching a dark Korean thriller but it's a docu-series about a real life serial killer. Looking forward to starting the new seasons of Dickinson and Narcos: Mexico this weekend. Yeah, let me know if Succession ends up snagging you. I'm gunna get start the new season of Narcos: Mexico before I give it another crack. On the same situation as Succession, is that Yellowstone show. Big hype around it, but the first episode seem so friggin cheesy that I couldn't finish. You seen that at all? The Raincoat Killer was awesome, have you seen The Chaser? One of my top 3 favorite Korean films and it's based off of this guy!

I have seen The Chaser and thought it was brilliant. Might have to give it a rewatch now I know the real life story. Maybe a triple bill with I Saw the Devil and Memories of Murder. Speaking of true crime shows, I made a start on Where is Marta? and Catching Killers last night. Catching Killers felt pretty lightweight but Where is Marta? had a strong first episode.

Yeah, Yellowstone has been huge here in North America. I have the intrigue to watch because of the Native American aspect, but the opening episode just didn't grab me like I had hoped. I should really take that with a grain of salt I guess, as Breaking Bad took me 3 tries to get into originally back in the day haha. I re watched a few months ago, just as good as the first time! I'm due for a I Saw The Devil and Memories of Murder rewatch! Added that Marta one to my list when it got released the other day, I'm sure I'll check it soon as well.

First three episodes of Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. The first episode struggled with a bit of pacing issues but the cast brought the whole thing together, on top of that the immense about of worldbuilding they have to try to accomplish makes me accept the pacing issues. Episodes 2/3 really brought the whole thing back together, I'm blown away by this magnificent cast and the show writers staying true to the source material, yes they changed some things but apart from one change I can understand why they changed what they did.
I'm curious to see how people who've never read the books receive it. They drop a lot of little things in the show that are kind of Easter Egg's for book readers, but do it in a way that doesn't sacrifice anything for new viewers. And my inherent knowledge of the world and why certain things are happening sheds some events in a light that new viewers need to understand.
As a whole I'm thrilled with what I saw, I feel like the show is in good hands with Rafe and the writers, they understand the material and theme's of the books and know how to take it to television, I have a few nitpicks, but as always I only nitpick things I'm passionate about.

Just binged "True Story", the new mini series on Netflix starring Kevin Hart. Exceeded my expectations and hooked me pretty good. If you're on the ropes about watching or not, I'd say check it out!

2 episodes into the new season of The Witcher, holy shit, I had no idea the show had this much room for growth. It retained everything that made the first season great, and picked up a bunch of little things to make this new season into something special.
My problem right now is every show I was waiting for came out at the same time and there isn't enough time in the week to watch everything. In terms of my priority shows here's where I'm at.
- about 75% through newest season of Narcos Mexico - current on Wheel of Time - 2 episodes into The Witcher - haven't even started s2 of The Great - on episode 129/141 of Critical Role S2 (SO close to the end) - Currentish on Critical Role S3 - haven't even started S3 of Lost in Space
The woes of everything getting shut down to Covid at the same time, and being able to start back up again at the same time, and then dropping everything at the same time.
Hopefully I'm able to claw away at some of this with extra time off over the holidays while now having 2 D&D nights a week.

Oddly, I found myself logging into Netflix a month ago for the first time in more than a year and started to try watching something again. I think what spurred it was seeing an email that the new season of F is for Family came out.
So I watched the latest season of F is for Family. Gotta say, that show grew on me a lot. The first season was a little bit slow for me, but for some reason I kept watching. The character development is nice from season to season. And I freaking love how they somehow found a way to tie in one of the funniest things from a previous season involving popped condoms with the latest season. I won't spoil that, but it's hilarious and gets me cracking up every time I think about it. hahaha
After finishing it, I found out the new season of Queer Eye came out finally, so I watched the first episode of season 6 yesterday! What a great start to the season! And the way COVID played into it made it especially engaging. Wow, I love this show. Always did, but a great reminder yesterday as I watched it. I missed this.

Current shows I’m watching: - Euphoria s02. Loving this season even though I can see why people would find it self-indulgent and cringe. - The Righteous Gemstones s02. Hilarious. Funniest show on TV imo. Glad the Baby Billy character is back. - The Book of Boba Fett. Until this week it was trash. Weird that they just dropped a Mando episode in there out of nowhere. - The Green Planet. Phenomenal Sunday night comfort viewing. We need to keep David Attenborough alive forever.
Recently watched: - Hawkeye. Caught up with the Marvel Studios shows. Liked this one a lot. - Narcos: Mexico. Probably the weakest Narcos season so far but I still enjoyed it. Looks like the Narcos brand might be done. It was a fun ride. - Ozark s04 part 1. Binged it over a weekend. Feels like they’re giving the show a good send off. Ruth Langmore is goated. - Archive 81. Loved the first two episodes but didn’t enjoy the direction it took and soon lost interest. - Cheer s02. It was going so well until the pandemic hit and then it just felt depressing to watch. The antithesis of the first season which was pure feel good viewing.
This weekend I’m planning on making a dent in the new Korean zombie show on Netflix, All of Us Are Dead, and catching up with Peacemaker so I’m up to date with the DC Extended Universe.

Loving Euphoria s02 aswell, what a show. Honestly could do without Rue and her addiction to drugs though. Little annoying now. Ozark continues to be absolutely terrific. Cheer s02 was good viewing again, but as you mentioned doesn't hold weight compared to the first season. Watching the new Dexter, have 2 more eps left and as its been cringy here and there and it is an absolute carbon cut out of every other season ever, I have actually really enjoyed it haha

Man, talk about over-promising and under-delivering. Zero of the promised "bombshells" or personal revelations, she was just as cagey and private about everything as she's always been. And that's okay! But don't tell everybody this brief series will known your socks off, as it did nothing of the sort. Aside from some sweet moments with family and home videos, and the great music of course, this is not worth your time. ★★½ letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/janet-jackson/

The Witcher - Season 2This show was one of my most anticipated releases of 2021. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a massive fan of The Witcher. The first season of this show captured the gore, provocativeness, comedy and fleshed out the world and the characters. However, the second season does focus more on three characters, in particular Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this follow-up to a beautiful first season and only hope this continues. Henry Cavill continues to be the Geralt of Rivia we all deserve. Arcane - Season 1Despite being a "gamer," League of Legends has never been a property that has engaged me. MOBAs aren't my cup of tea, and the art design of League's characters is hit or miss. So when they announced a Netflix show based on Jinx and Vi, I was intrigued. Although these two characters are two of the most iconic in the franchise, I also wanted to know what people love about this world. The first thing that anyone can tell you about this series is that the art direction is astounding. Watching the show is worth the time to see the amount of detail, love, and talent to bring these characters to life. The story lacks any meaningful punch but takes place in such an exciting world that you want to see more. Arcane only scratches the surface of what the League of Legends' universe has to offer. After having finished the series, I'm eager to see what's next—a rock-solid foundation for something to be groundbreaking. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 1-4My fiancé and I have a tradition of picking one series to watch while eating. This practice makes for an excellent way to share shows we're both interested in and spend some quality time together. Recently, we've started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm as something light and funny to enjoy while having a meal. Boy, has it been a thrill ride. Curb is at its finest when Larry David finds a way to take an episode and weave every occurrence into a running theme. There is a decent amount of hit and misses, but this show continues to hold up even with the earlier seasons being from the early 2000s. My favorite part about this show is just the amount of running jokes and the nature of how Larry David's mind works. Season 4 has had some of the most enjoyable episodes to date, one of my favorites being The Car Pool Lane. Though I'm probably one of the last people to watch this series, I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and I dread that empty feeling once I'm finished.
