Nice thread idea.
I caught a cold yesterday (Friday) so I am just sitting here in my wife’s family home in Shanghai with no real plans and no ability to play with my son this weekend. So this weekend is pretty blah...
Catching up on youtube “Overkill Reviews” by Bangertv because they posted two new reviews since the last time I looked. Watching the new review for Sacred Reich’s album, and there is another one released for the new Entombed AD album.
Finished my lesson plans for my classes next week this afternoon, and have more or less just been drinking hot water a lot and eating raw garlic with the hopes that these things will help me expel this cold quickly. I want to go to the gym on Monday! Hahaha

My family has a lake house in upstate New York, it's only 2 hours away and has been in the family for 60 years. It's a place that brings everyone together, because of it I'm closer with my cousins than a lot of people are with their siblings. But yeah, we sail, we motorboat, we drink and play cards, in the winter we even come up here go skiing.
I'm here right now for the Labor Day weekend, it's my happy place.

Another two-hour drive to north of Philly for a movie day! Then I'm going to watch as many Hitchcock films as I can this weekend.

Went kayaking with my girlfriend and her friends. Shit was cache, although around 50% in it started really becoming type 2 fun because it was 36 Celsius and full sun.

I’ve got a big whole day from 10am to 5pm coaching, conducting, playing, and rehearsing with the Kunshan Youth Orchestra on Saturday. Although it’s kind of a gig for me, I am new to working with them and only did once before a week and a half ago. I caught some government attention, according to my co-teacher who introduced me to the group that day. She said pictures and videos of me working with their orchestra were floating around in some articles after that night. My goal this weekend is to do my best to impress, especially since I haven’t met the main conductor, who will be there Saturday. I’m really hoping that he will see my potential beyond what he already saw in the videos and help create a more regular paid position for me this year with the group.
Other than that, I’ll go back to Shanghai after the rehearsal and play out the weekend in relaxed mode with my wife and her family. I’m almost recovered from the cold I caught on Friday, so I should be able to do more than sit on their couch all day this time. Which is good because I need to help them take care of the baby when I’m home. Gives them a much needed break.

I guess either way, it’s still a cool paid opportunity this weekend. Doesn’t have to be regular to be exciting. I did just get chosen to work with the upcoming Shanghai Youth Orchestra last weekend, so I’ve still got fingers in other pies.

Went to watch the cricket yesterday. It was a good day out but I froze my balls off and feel drained today. The rest of the weekend is going to involve staying in and watching the final two days of the cricket on TV, watching the F1 and trying to catch up with Terrace House before the new season is released on Netflix next week.
Might see if I can fit in a trip to see IT Chapter Two tomorrow.

Went to watch the cricket yesterday. Is "the cricket" an acceptable way to say "cricket," or the preferable way? Asking in seriousness.

Going to go see the Brewers try and keep their playoff hopes alive tomorrow as they play game 4 in an absolutely must-win series against the Cubbies.

I’d use it with any sport but only one that I was familiar with. Might be a British thing. I remember Canadian Stevie thought it was funny when I said I was going to watch the football.
