What a race by Verstappen last night. Overtaking Kimi in the last lap. Amazing. The FIA is being inconsistent though with punishing the guy without even an investigation and taking him off the podium for the second time in almost a year. I totally agree it was out of the track limits but with several other cars doing it and he being the only one that gets a penalty. Further more Sainz drove a good race.

Love the US Grand Prix, well because mainly its at 3 in the afternoon. They sure do dumb down their broadcast for the american audience - it was almost cringe worthy at times how they were explaining everything.

New season starts this Weekend! From the first two practice sessions it looks like another season of Hamilton/Mercedes domination. Except this time with a halo. Red Bull/Ferrari are close though so I hope for a couple of surprises this season. Also Renault/McClaren (yes) and Haas made improvements and are near the same speed as the Williams/Force India teams. Can't wait for sunday. Also, I hope the halo's fuck off next season. |

So the virtual safety car rules need looking at, lol. What happened? Fell a sleep after 10 laps since I was awake >24 hours and the beginning was pretty boring. Watched some highlights after that but it was mostly just the cars that didn't finish and some overtaking. Verstappen holding his car together was a good job. After watching those highlights and reading some fb comments I can say that yesterdays race was one of the weirdest from the last couple of years. Also, the new live tracker had issues in the beginning. Overtaking cars didn't change in that. |

Hamilton was cruising to victory but a virtual safety car came out, Vettel pitted and came out in front of Hamilton. You don’t have to keep to the same lap speeds if you pit, basically. I don’t like the rebrand if I’m honest, the graphics look too stylised. Just use a clear font and stop trying to appeal to an American audience with the typeface ffs. |

I got to watch about half the replay last night and one thing is for sure, I really do miss the old guys from NBC. Gotta get Buxton back.
