Okay maybe I won't be checking out the next race because of the 2:10 am start. But I will watch the highlights on YouTube! Pansy.

Careful there, you don't want these hands. You're right; I have two hands of my own that work really well. Thanks for the offer though!

How does the teammate relationship work? Is Leclarc supposed to play second fiddle to Vettel and expected to let the more experienced and decorated take points from him to make a championship run, or are they competitively racing each other too? I'm just confused by this teammate thing, I saw a lot of the tension between teammates during the Netflix thing and I imagine it's different for every manufacturer, I just don't know.

Leclerc is the junior driver in the team so Ferrari are going to favour Vettel, but Leclerc will be allowed to race Vettel at this stage in the season (provided he does it safely), and if he's consistently outperforming Vettel and scoring more points, the team are just going to do whatever gives them the best chance of winning the championship. The drivers at the teams lower down the pecking order are usually on more equal standing and since they're generally fighting to stay in the sport for the next season (or to catch the eye of one of the big teams) they're more likely to race their teammates harder. It can lead to some entertaining drama and tension.

At first when I started looking into the sport I'd grow tired of watching Mercedes vs Ferrari vs everyone else vs Williams. But it seems like there is enough exciting things in the middle of the field to keep things fresh. Plus it seems like teams can actually rise and fall, I just watched an interview where Jeremy Clarkson asked Lewis Hamilton why he would ever switch from a team like Mclaren to a team like Mercedes.

Ferrari gave team orders during the race telling Leclerc to let Vettel overtake. I'm really surprised at that, considering Vettel has been pretty unreliable lately. Sounds like Leclerc was surprised too, given his reaction to the radio message.

Leclerc's reaction to those team orders in the last race and the previous race says it all. Fuck Ferrari and I hope Leclerc beats Vettel every single race.

Okay scoped the schedule and the only grand prix left with a ridiculous start time is Japan. Everything else starts at least at 8:10 AM so unless I'm traveling I can watch.

Ferrari must be kicking themselves over their start to the season. They finally have a car that looks competitive and they keep fucking it up.

Dutch GP back on the calendar. theblackpage like this. Hell yeah! Zandvoort is one of the sickest racetracks. I'm not going to the Dutch GP though. Infrastructure is terrible there and I cba dealing with Max Verstappen fans all over the place. Don't get me wrong, I love what he is doing in F1 but ever since I was a child I watched F1 and now everybody here is running around with their Max Vertappen goggles on and think he is some kind of god. At work I had to stay longer because we had an extra flight to Barcelona filled with F1 fans. A few of them were like ''Yeah Max is going to do great'' and I just replied with: well, if he finishes at least. They all went ''How can you say this, you should support him!''. And with my reply: the dude's not going to finish all of his races in his F1 career and I don't have high expectations of him they went on board. Red Bull has a good car but this or next year that car won't win him his championship. I also read an interesting theory that Lewis goes to Ferrari and that Horner goes to Mercedes and takes Max with him. That should be interesting to see.

Finally an interesting starting order! Can't wait to see how long Ricciardo, will be able to hold that fourth spot with Gasly and Bottas right behind him, and that's before Verstappen comes cruising into the fray too. I haven't much cared for that championship "race" this year, but the midfield has been fun to watch. I watched a video about 2010 and at this point in the season then there was something like 5 drivers and 4 constructors all very much in the championship hunt, I've enjoyed my dip into F1 but would really like to see the sport get back to something like that.

Honestly I think that season was a complete one off. There’s usually one dominant team and in all the years I’ve been watching, I feel lucky when there’s just two drivers battling for the top.

Well Canada was probably my favorite GP I've watched this year, feel hard for Vettel I understand why he feels so robbed. Renault had a weekend to build on and it was fun seeing Stroll have such a good go at his home race.
As a new fan it felt like there was always something to pay attention to and so many shifting storylines. Vettel and Hamilton put on one hell of a show up front until Hamilton just had to stay close, even then Leclerc made it interesting.
