Finally managed to beat Orlick after 2-3 more tries. Even after reaching the recommended level he still was a handful. Moving forward, watch out for Cyrus’ ch. 2 boss, Gideon. As a precaution, you might want to overlevel just a bit and stock up on spells for your mages and soulstones. Still haven’t beat this particular fucker yet.

Sounds like you're quite a bit farther than I! Does the game teach you at some point what soulstones are used for or should I look to figure that out? I've collected a few but didn't think anything of it since mostly the treasure chests contain of battle resource replenishers. I quite like Cyrus, although his first support skill seems useless to me right now since I just need to level a bit. I'm on the first chapter of the hunter character, your first character, my third character. I need to get more gameplay in! |

stringypoo, I’m about 15-16 hrs. in, and I’m beginning to like Cyrus. As you progress with him, he’ll upgrade his spells to do like 2 hits of a certain type of spell, etc. I recently found and equipped the thief class to him for his subclass, so I can refill his HP and SP when I need it. Soulstones are like spell grenades, if you will; it’s like if you’re up against an enemy that’s weak against a type of elemental magic and you’ve already used your mage(s) turns, you can grab these out of your inventory and continue spamming that type of elemental magic. What’s your current lineup? H’annit is my main, and I’ve got Ophilia, Therion and Cyrus with me. I’m thinking of completing Cyrus’, H’annit’s and Ophilia’s ch. 2 before I go get the other 4.

Ahh, the soul stones thing doesn't sound so complicated at all. It's like throwing gems and stuff in those final fantasy games to inflict lightning and stuff. I haven't gotten into subclasses yet. Cyrus is my main, at level 15, Ophilia at 14, H'aanit at 13, and I'm actually about to start Therion at this very moment. Lol, same party as yours somehow. |

Well, okay, I think Therion is the typical character I would have started the game with. I think I'm going to skip him right now for trying different rpg experiences. I think I'll go down a little farther and recruit Alfyn, the apothecary.

Lol, I know! I can't make up my damn mind. I keep going back and forth. I won't be playing till tonight and I keep changing my mind. Each character seems good! I like that Therion can open those special chests, although who knows if the contents are worth picking him over the other. And I like that Alfyn used axes, a weapon class I currently don't have in my party. It sucks having two members with the same weapon (Cyrus and Ophilia). I'll probably end up choosing Alfyn tonight. Lol |

You can flip between a bow and an axe with her, but she doesn’t have a real SP move with axes until you unlock and equip the “second serving” support skill, which is a 50/50 chance of performing another hit after your regular hit(s) are done. |

I am going with Alfyn. I was at the Subaru store servicing my car and brought my game. I'm in the town and ready to start Alfyn's chapter 1 tonight!

That's worth considering. I quite like H'aanit! Capturing different beasts allows for different strike qualities, and Linde is always available. It's a fun property. I am going with Alfyn. I was at the Subaru store servicing my car and brought my game. I'm in the town and ready to start Alfyn's chapter 1 tonight! I’m just about to pick Alfyn up as well and do his ch. 1 before striking eastward and doing H’annit’s ch. 2. If I’m lucky with grinding and leveling, I might be in a good place to take on Cyrus’ ch. 3 as well, which is in the same town. |

I started Xenoblade Chronicles 3D a few months back and want to finish that before jumping into another deep game. But I love hearing your back and forth on the game, even if I only vaguely understand some of the things being discussed. I'm playing the game vicariously through you guys right now.  |

Oh man, I am pretty certain I'm about to put in an hour tonight here soon. Gonna get Alfyn's chapter one started. Was going to last night, and then ended up going to my favorite brewery and spending four hours drinking their beers...lol
