Well, my gameplay time has been very off and on, with occasional 3-5 week periods of no play, but I’m finally on the final chapter of Triangle Strategy on the Nintendo Switch. It is the only current year game release I have experienced and will likely be the only one for that matter with how little play time I have anymore.
I have been playing video games for a good 29 years, I realized. I’m not about to call Triangle Strategy the greatest game I’ve ever played, but my point is that a good 24 or 25 years of those 29 years were years in which I was deeply invested in games, current and past. And with that, I believe I know a lot about what is a good game and what isn’t. Triangle Strategy is a very good game. I was deeply questioning some of my game decisions along the way and deeply invested in the story direction the whole ride so far. Now that I have reached the last chapter, I’m both anxious to know what will happen in the land of Norzelia and equally afraid for the conclusion to arrive, as I have enjoyed sinking hours into this fictional land these past months. I’ve also gotta be honest and admit it’s my first tactical rpg game I’ve chosen to play through. I tested FF Tactics but wasn’t feeling it. But this game just clicked with me from the start. It’s story rich and very rewarding. Highly recommending this title!

Finally finished Triangle Strategy! It was really good! As tempting as it is to jump back in for a different story trajectory and ending, I know it will take me a whole year to finish it again, and likely longer than that, with how busy I am.
So... I now have started 3 games and will likely favor one soon. I started: Disgaea 5 Complete Cuphead Rogue Legacy 2 (was super hyped on this one!!! I love the first one!)

Stringy, if you liked Triangle Strategy, you may enjoy Live A Live and Octopath Traveler. I've watched from afar people's enjoyment of Triangle Strategy. Unfortunately, I have a hard time sticking with a game, especially one dense with lore and story. But it is beyond awesome to hear how much you've loved that game, and chasing that high again is always a challenging experience to replicate. I've still been playing many game-as-a-service titles: Fallout 76, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, and World of Warcraft. Outside of that, I started playing High on Life, Marvel Snap, and Orcs Must Die 3. Got to push myself to finish High on Life, the game is funny and unpredictable, which is what I love about Dan Harmon's gaming experiences, but my god, is it a janky and stiff mess of a game. My goal this year is to play and finish more games this year. Still haven't touched God of War Ragnorak yet.

I did play through Octopath back in 2019, which is partly why I decided to give Triangle Strategy a go, despite never having played a tactical rpg before. I just had a good vibe from it. Wow, I really hope to find time to play through Triangle Strategy again and live out a different story routine. What a great title! I got to the very last boss of Rogue Legacy 2, which is an absolute blast to play through! But unfortunately my break ended and I didn’t get to finish it before getting deep into work again.

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars (2021) Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars comes from the imaginative mind of Yoko Taro of NieR and Drakengard fame. Acting as Creative Director, the game contains many of Yoko Taro's signature styles. The game is a casual card-based RPG reminiscent of tabletop games in terms of story, combat, and pacing. Don't walk into this game expecting a complex story or in-depth characters. The game is a relaxing role-playing experience that lasts for about 15 hours. Taking on the role of a hero, you will be accompanied by the adorable Mar, your companion, throughout the game. Your main objective is to kill a dragon sentenced to death by the kingdom's queen. The gold reward for taking down the dragon pushes you onward, meeting a rambunctious cast of characters. Along this dangerous journey, your party will be filled with various characters, each with a unique back story explaining why they are joining you. However, most of the game is light on character development and depth. Combat is tragically simple but maintains its freshness for the game's length. Accompanied by a limited but strong soundtrack, it helps bolster the world and adds tension to each battle. The artwork is easily one of the most impressive aspects of the game. It provides unique monster designs, beautifully intricate artwork for the main characters, and a fresh world compared to other games. One of the glaring downsides is the repeated use of character art for the limited cast of NPCs in the game. You'll see the same old man, young kid, and woman in each town you visit. A sin that many games make, but with such a small amount of NPCs, it is glaringly apparent. In my opinion, a lot could've been improved without much effort. Initially, the game didn't click with me. After giving it a second chance, I enjoyed it for what it was. I feel like setting the right kind of expectations is critical to helping others enjoy this game. It's a short casual role-playing experience with enough to love about its world and characters to push you forward to complete the game. There were a lot of witty gags or bits that I found clever or even had me laughing out loud. The price for this game is reasonable for the amount of time it asks of you and the content it delivers. It helps that 100% completing the game doesn't ask much more of you outside of what completing the game will net you. Overall, you'll complete most of the game by playing through it normally, with the cleanup for remaining achievements only taking an extra couple of hours. I'm not sure I would be compelled to continue the series and play the other Voice of Card games, but I did enjoy my time and recommend it.

I love how beautifully the ost played on the trailer. Might be another on my list to play For me, I recently came back on playing Tales of Arise for the first time in 2 years. Since the Expansion came out a month back. It was quite unexpected, what a come back. Then I finally beaten it. Now I'm back playing Final Fantasy 16 since August. Which they also released the expansion for it. I was rehearsing or trying to get a re-cap for getting familiar of the gameplay. Before I actually start the expansion of the story.
